The thread for discussion is here The Brexit thread as always. But it was pointed out that we haven't had a poll for 7 years, and what with it being summer. No fence sitting
Rejoining in the long term is imo the way to go.The country is screwed until we join the Single Market again.
it would've been, if everyone joined inRome wasn't built in a day.
If they’d just believed harder.it would've been, if everyone joined in
True, but on the other hand the last thing we need is another election defined by voter's opinion of the EU - because it ends up being at the expense of everything else.Absolutely we should rejoin the single market in some form. Shame none of our current crop of politicians, who have a chance of gaining power, have the balls to put it in a manifesto.
It fell in pretty much a day though...Rome wasn't built in a day.
There's a change vote option for just such an eventualityHit wrong choice.
It is not an opinion on the EU though. The two things (EU and the Single Market) have always been conflated but they shouldn't be.True, but on the other hand the last thing we need is another election defined by voter's opinion of the EU - because it ends up being at the expense of everything else.
They shouldn't be, but we'd be in the SM if they weren't.It is not an opinion on the EU though. The two things (EU and the Single Market) have always been conflated but they shouldn't be.
IndeedThey shouldn't be, but we'd be in the SM if they weren't.
They should, but I doubt they will as they know it will go down badly in some areas.Ultimately the Single Market (with or without Customs Union) will happen, it's a geopolitical inevitablity. Every country in the world trades first and foremost with those nearest to it, and in the most frictionless way t can find. We're no exception to that rule. It'll take a couple of cycles for the poison of Brexit to be flushed away fully, but I expect SM membership to be in at least one of the serious manifestos come the election after the upcoming one.
