I went in there once to meet Yorkie (she stood me up). It struck me as the sort of place where the music jars to a halt and the pool balls stop rolling when a stranger steps in, and the barmaid has webbed feet.

There were a couple of dirty Becks Vier pint glasses on the wall outside on Sunday morning, I took them home and cleaned them up a treat though

Pubs that I have previously watched Albion games that can create a bit of home support atmosphere (and deliver a quality dirty pint glass) are; The Preston Brewery Tap, The Eclipse (near the old Goldstone), The Nelson, The Doom and Gloom on Islingwood Road, The Railway Tavern (London Road station) and the Rose Hill Tavern (not sure if they still have a big screen).
That is debatable.

The Brewery Tap is up there with the Mitre when it comes to pubs that should be condemned and demolished.

I do not mind the Bugle on my annual visit to it, whilst trying to do all the Ale Trail pubs in Brighton in a day, although it is normally about pub number 10 of 12.
Nothing wrong with the Bugle.

Actually the Sportsman should get a mention in any list of shite pubs.
It is a handy refreshment stop before the walk up Southover Street, I will admit.
