The Thai food is good in there but I still prefered it
when they did use to do proper pub grub can only
assume it has changed hands hence the change?

Agreed, had some last week. red/green curry very good, but the tom yam soup is a little dodgy

Everywhere
Sad to read that the Park View has closed as I worked there when I was a student.
It was a good laugh, apart from the 'knocker boys' in the upstairs bar.
Had a few barmaids between the sheets as well.
Great days:smokin:

Quality, does that mean I don't have to go to work today!!!

How did people cope yesterday then?

Had an attempt at getting a drink at the Crown & Anchor, but it was six deep at the bar in a Sportsman stylee. Gave up after five minutes and went up the Station where me and dougdeep got served straightaway. THPP's usual tipple the Westons organic was in the fridge and dougdeep said the Harveys was the best he'd tasted in Brighton. Lovely nature ramble to the ground along a chalky path type thing. Back to the Station for a few games of pool. Not ideal as its one of those where you need to use the short cues for certain angles, and THPP blotted his copybook by knocking over a table of drinks, but assuming I'm allowed in again, it will be the pre & post match pub of choice from now on. Well at least until the Tap opens again...

Very weird though, when a train pulled into Preston Park about twenty minutes before kick off just as we were leaving the pub, and a steady stream of Albion and Swindon fans from the train started heading towards the Station instead of the ground. We told the Swindon fans they were going in the wrong direction for the game, but they just said they wanted a pint. What's all that about?

I thoroughly enjoyed my post-match tipple in The Station. Nice welcoming, friendly atmosphere & a pwoppa fire keeping fings toastie. Shame I didn't go there instead of the C&A earlier on tbh. Oh well, you live & learn innit.

Why dont you just tell the old bill who serves under age kids.

No, that's just silly. I'm sure if 8Ace wishes to reply to me, he'll do it VIA. PM.

Be quiet. You're boring.

Are they strict on I.D in there mate?

Can't really answer that being a bit of an old bastard now myself.
I've never seen them refuse to serve someone or ask for ID but then again you don't get that many young kiddies in there. Sorry I can't be more helpful mate.

You are under age and putting a publicans license at risk and no doubt the police who read NSC, of which there are a few, will be taking note.

Why am I? I haven't said that THEY serve under-age drinkers, did I?

Plus I wasn't even going to try to get SERVED.

You just stick to The Burrell, etc etc.

Out of my group of mates who I go Albion with (10/12 of us), there's only 2 of us under-18 anyway.

Always seems busy in there, when I walk past.
