I thought Brett Mendoza had scored himself a student-style holiday job working the Palmeira Road end bar at the County Ground. Has he got a doppelgänger???

Fullers pub dressed up as a proper ale and craft beer place. Meh!

Looks better than before, but that is not hard. Will give it a go, but what they are saying they are going to stock will need a whole bunch of interesting guest beers to make it a regular pub for me. Especially with the Albert, Battle, Evening Star and Nelson nearby.

What is Brett's connection to this? He is not listed as Manager on the website.

He's working there and doing a lot of the advertising I think. Makes sense given his reputation for being a media whore.

Not sure what you're moaning about really, town centre pubs seem to be booming currently and I'm sure this will be no exception. Good to have such a lot of choice

Good news - it was an utter shithole before, but useful for a pint when in town before the Battle opens it's doors at 12.

Mellor 3 Ward 4 - I'ver never seen you in the BoT.

That's because I'm a tight arse and don't want to buy you a drink....

Last season we were certainly in there less, and I guess we've been in there on the days you've not been and visa-versa.

His Facebook posts suggest he's the manager.

Not really moaning. Just saying it would not be my pub of choice and if you are going to stick the words cask and craft on your website, I would expect a more exciting choice than London Pride, a Fullers lager and one variety from Sierra Nevada, that is all. Good luck to them though, and I am sure it will be busy. Hopefully the theatre will thrive which is the most important thing with that place for me.

OK, maybe he is. It says Tom Tucker is the manager on their website though. Either way good luck to them, it is hard work managing a pub, even more so when you have an arts venue attached as well.

It wasn't. I used to go there quite a bit for the theatre, it's a shame that's gone, I like a pub with a theatre.

Oh, and Brett is assistant manager (and in charge of social media/promotion)
