I don't think Potter does have too much choice in that position, at least until Burn is back.

I think Duffy is doing a good job, just as he always has done for The Albion. I've just pointed out that his weaknesses are obvious and that is it a contributing factor as to why we're not as effective going forward this season.

That's all.

Not as effective going forward? 5 goals seems okay to me.

Come on we all know that MOTD will be the Ronaldo show tonight. Nothing else will matter.

Half expecting the news to be on BBC2 tonight

Edit, no need it will be the news

Very much this. Why the f##k Stat Brother sees fit to pull you up is beyond me. You weren't even being particularly controversial.

The bloke absolutely loves to get his post count up though (especially for cheap likes) so it's probably that.

For a bit of balance, I think Duffy has been, in the main, very solid in the games thus far - but would anticipate he'll be eased out of the team against the traditional top 6 sides.

You're above post is absolutely spot on though.

An hour and a couple of glasses of Rioja on.....

Very even match with both sides putting in the effort and commitment that would deserve a point a piece, with Brentford probably just edging it, but without the quality to make it count.
However, Brentford tired and the last 20 mins there was only one team likely to win.
At this level, one moment of class can make the difference.

I'm now off to stroke my beard wistfully (had I not accidentally shaved it off 6 months ago, but that's another story) ???

Some fans really fail to see any kind of bigger picture beyond the results do they.

It's like when we were playing really well last season and not getting the results to show for it. Some fans were getting irate, some even calling for Potter's head at times, failing to see the bigger picture.

The bigger picture now is that we have not been brilliant this season so far. We've been OK, but we were a lot better last season. So it is bizarre we're doing so well - in part it's because we've been more clinical, credit to Potter and the goalscorers for this.

If we continue to play like we have been we will start to drop points... an ideal scenario where the league is our oyster is where we can combine the chance creation (xG) of last season and the ability to take our chances from this season (so far). It would result in a top 10 finish 100%, if not higher.

No, it's because you keep talking about Duffy's obvious weaknesses (?) and how they are making us a weaker team going forward, yet the evidence doesn't really appear to back you up.

As I said earlier I don't expect Duffy to be a starter against the Top 6, but give the man, the team and Potter some credit.

I had this daft hope we’d take our chances compared to last season and be great this year. Turns out now we don’t even create chances let alone score them.
Really poor.
We’ve now played two promoted teams and a team we finished above and have played well for maybe 3 half’s, tops.

Why don’t you cheer yourself up with a nice glass of wine?

It's amazing, considering our chance creation has been so low. We've been taking our chances.

Polar opposite of last season. We can speculate why we are taking our chances this season- practice, tactics, good fortune, or a combination of these?

But at the same time, our chance creation is now very low and it is a concern. Again, we can speculate why that is. In part, I don't think we have played very well for much of this season so far - in addition I believe Potter's gone more direct and the side is adapting to that, but also losing White and replacing him with Duffy is a factor.

Personally, I’m not feeling overly “concerned” at this precise moment.

Magnificent and to me the overriding plus point is Sanchez, we would never have won a game like that a few seasons ago.

Bossed his area brilliantly today and several good catches

Try the beginning of last season until Ryan was binned off. This time last season, every solitary shot on target was going in against us with Ryan and the defence somehow allowing it to happen. We’d miss half a dozen big chances per game and then opposition would score all of theirs.

How things change.

I admire your confidence, but even as a card carrying member of #TeamDuffman I'm not seeing it myself.

As others have said, since his renaissance, I'm also of the opinion the team has missed Duffy's presence in games like Burnley and Brentford away.
They weren't getting those points, last season, without a player eager to get down and dirty with the opposition.

It's hard to think Lukaku, or Vardy for that matter, will be losing much sleep prior to playing against the big man.
