[Albion] Brentford fans

I think we are no different to any other fans really you have to remember these are our golden years after so many years of lower league misery.I am old enough to have seen us play you at the great Goldstone the Priestfield and the depressing Withdean.I also have been to your new stadium with is excellent we haven’t had such a traumatic journey although it was sad not to have an official farewell to Griffin Park.We now have a superb new stadium although it only holds 17500 it’s more than good enough for us.Will be a hard game to call Saturday as this should be a winnable game after our first 3 results but could be a rude awakening waiting for us.Neal Maupay will get a great reception I’m sure and will give our defenders a tough time but we look very strong defensively and don’t have the soft underbelly we used to be accused of.The new stadium has plenty of decent but expensive pubs along the river and it’s only a 10 minutes walk to the pubs by our own ground enjoy your day.

Two weeks ago I'm sure there were threads about the Everton game and how we were likely to win after our great start (which wasn't that great, lucky against Burnley and beat a poor Watford side). Look how that turned out.

There is a cohort of BHA fans that really seems care what opposition fans think about BHA, which seems narcissistic. The only thing I am interested in is whether the Brentford fans are giving Ivan Toney and good old fashioned panto style booing for not taking the knee. Going to be a poser for pre match protocols……I think he should be booed.

Anyroad, first away game this season, I’m looking forward to it immensely, shame about the caliphate style approach to their refreshments, hopefully this is not the start of a trend as we move forward this season etc.

I have read a hell of a lot more bollocks about us than this. I think their comments were fair and naturally more optimistic in favour of their team. Quite a few actually said Brighton are a good side and not to be underestimated.

They've been doing it win, lose or draw for some time now. It's just a show of appreciation to their fans - nothing more, nothing less.

This, Everton game was worrying no real effort Potter getting desperate and throwing kids on although to be fair Richards looks more of a footballer than the Zambian fella (also worrying).

I’m the same regarding Brighton have followed with interest your journey from those miserable days.I remember reading that your new stadium was completely sold out both the corporate and Season tickets when it opened and saw this as a great example to other clubs.However a couple of years later it was reported that you had near on £300 million of debt not sure if that was mainly due to the stadium costs because you don’t spend big on players or wages is this still the case?

Go into any game against a half decent PL side with no specialist Full Backs or Wing Backs and we are going to struggle. Our game revolves around them. We were in that game until the clumsy penalty but ended up well beaten.

As far as I’m aware the debt is to the owner and most of it was the cost of building the stadium. The owner is a lifelong fan. Your club will have to be extraordinarily well run to survive in this division and the challenge will come with developing the squad. We were promoted with a team not a squad and it takes some doing just treading water in comparison to other clubs. You will endure runs of five or six defeats in a row where the confidence will drain from your fanbase. There will be pressure to buy the fabled 15-20 goal PL striker and you will lose to Norwich or Palace after gaining a heroic point at somewhere like Anfield. If you manage to finish 17th then you should breathe a sigh of relief and do it all again next year…Enjoy

I think around £200m of that is infrastructure costs, ground and training ground. I think the plan is to try and become self sustaining by identifying youth potential (globally) and feeding them into the team, selling the odd one or two every season (Ben White this year).

And presumably Ashworth, Potter, Weir decided they'd seen enough of Karbownik in training and the several games he played and sanctioned it.

Given that we hope to have Cucurella, March, Lamptey and Veltman all competing for two positions he would probably have got very limited game time, makes sense to me

I think Mwepu just needs a bit of time to adjust to the Premier League. He does look a bit like a fish out of water at present but his through ball to Moder at Cardiff shows he has quality. Some time adapting to the pace of the league and the physicality will help and while we still have Biss we can afford to give him time.
