BBC's Dan Roan has just tweeted

"Portsmouth FC statement: "likely the club will now be closed down and liquidated" - they blame former owner Sacha Gaydamak"

Thought they were in the clear now?

(I'll believe it when I see it BTW).

Barrel of Fun

Abort, retry, fail
I just read that.

Clearly a come and get me plea or a statement to pressure the latest owner (can't remember his name) to drop the demand for £15m.

I VERY much doubt they will go out of business.

That no-mark administrator trying to blackmail the former owner (currently trying to buy the club back effectively for nothing) and the FL to give them what they want (while continuing to pay inflated wages they cannot justify or afford to the likes of Lawrence and Kitson)). I'm sure they will get away with it again but frankly the way the administrator is running things (including continuing to pay Storrie a ridiculous and unjustifiable consultancy fee) they deserve to go under

Oh dear........ 22 year old wants to buy to club.

THE 22-year-old businessman with an eye to buy Pompey has said he is ready to start rebuilding the club.

With Portsmouth FC expected to exit administration soon, Tom Lever has told The News he is still very interested in making an offer.

He heads up the Cheshire-based consortium which made a £16m bid to own the club in August, but said since then hADVERTISEMENT as been frustrated by the slow pace of negotiations.

He said: 'I am excited by the Portsmouth FC opportunity both personally and commercially, and I am completely confident that the team I have put together can place Portsmouth back to where it should be, on and off the pitch.

'To ensure this happens we need cooperation from the club and support from the fans.'

Pompey's administrator, Andrew Andronikou, previously said discussions with the consortium were 'going nowhere', but this has been rejected by Mr Lever.

He said: 'We are currently in a situation where every positive move forward is met with criticism and resistance, which is frustrating.

'This needs to change quickly so we can start rebuilding this fantastic club.'

Last month missing paperwork meant that Pompey was denied its all-important 'golden' football share - which indicates membership of the Football League and would allow an owner to buy the club and lift the player registration embargo.

But as reported in The News, the club's administrators met with the Football Leuge in October and were set four outstanding requirements which they believe have now been met.

Once the club is out of administration Hong Kong businessman Balram Chainrai will once again be able to take ownership - and Mr Lever will be free to make him an offer.

Pompey chief executive, David Lampitt, said because of the club's current position he was not able to comment on Mr Lever's statement.

Mr Andronikou could not be reached for comment.

I don't understand what the hell is going on.

I know two things: I have more chance of a threesome with Julianne Moore and Charlotte Gainsbourg than Portsmouth gets liquidated.

And that the FL will bend over backwards to give Pompey more breathing space.

See ya. Won't miss ya.
Maybe it's time to run football as a proper business rather than some cloud cuckoo bollocks.

Although alot of you hate them and think that they are a joke a club, but dont you feel sorry for them at all? I do a little, wouldn't be nice to see such a popular local club go under

They will NOT get liquidated ... not without the trade passing to Poortsmouth FC 2010 Ltd first, and maintaining their Championship status, anyway.

I have their email and phone numbers, although Julianne is not available till next weekend. Both are very amenable to your proposal and look forward to the meeting. Quote 'the sooner the better, big boy!'
Email me off list and I will forward their details. Demi Moore also wanted to get involved but I told her , quite categorically I must say; ' Demi Dear, three's company, four's just great fun!'

You going to the Exeter game? I am down and am up for a pint beforehand. Assuming that is that Julianne and Charlotte aren't taking up your time on the 2nd Nov.
