But who's looking backwards - £250,000 is a good price (the Blades won't earn us any more money I reckon :) )

The clauses apply for the next three seasons !!!

I would be absolutely certain that they will at least make the playoffs once in the next three seasons --- and that will kick in an additional £50k

And with Warnock saying nice things about us and extra money on offer, Sheff U may well become my second team for the season.

Sheff U should be all of ours second club this season - and the next two - so that we cop the £100k for promotion

I thought we'd only get less than half the figures quoted. Not saying he hasn't been an excellent player for us but all things considered a good bit of business for us IMHO

The Albion were forced to sell both DC's. Sad, but true. Lets just hope we use the £500,000 - £650,000 wisely - it's all very well getting the money in, but spending it wisely is crucial

I am gutted but agree with alot of other people that danny's best days for us are behind him and it has shown alot this season. I think he has not been himself and we were lucky he didn't go after Cardiff. Thought we might have got 400-500k but he was bound to go eventually.

We have to get people signed up on longer contracts. How no new contract was offered to him before im not entirely sure. Well annoyed:censored:

We offered a new contract and he turned it down. What are we supposed to do?

I think it was Lord B who made the point when the two additional sites were raised for the Inquiry, that ....

.. the delay will take us into the summer by which time a number of players are out of contract. Until then we won't know our financial future so how can we calculate how much we can afford to offer them.

If:
JP had granted permission last summer, or

We'd got our arses in gear as fans, over the A&K rather than whinging and whining about whether they should be asking in the first place,

then maybe we wouldn't have to be selling our players off.

i think that last statement is a bit harsh to be honest. Some people just havent got money to throw into the club after paying for season tickets, away tickets, merchandise, mortgages, kids. bills.

I think you'll find it's already spend on trying to keep the club alive.

The £2m being asked for when Alive & Kicking was launched wasn't a nonsense figure, that's what we need NOW to survive. We raised £250k, so the money from Currie, Spurs match, Cullip and anyone else, just makes up that shortfall.

IMHO I believe that is spending it wisely, but I'm sure plenty on here will disagree.

I'm not annoyed at those people, I perfectly understand that.

I was angry (and still am) at those who just whinged about the club asking at all, and making it sound like those of us who were donated were just "mugs" and being "used" by the club, who are "taking us for granted".

That was hardly selling just how important this fund is to our very survival, it was basically saying "Don't donate, they are just conning you."

Shame but thanks and good luck. I think Charlie will do a good job as captain, if that's the case, as he is more inclined to give encouragement rather than foul mouthed bollockings and confidence shattering beatings. We have a good crop of young but fairly well experienced youngsters too. Good business it has to be said as he would have walked in the summer and we probably couldn't afford his level of wages anymore anyway.

Only Kuipers to go before the spine of our best team in recent years has all gone. FDM, Cullip, Rogers, Zamora, hasn't been bettered since.

You're living in dreamland, Phil. £250,000 was an incredibly generous price for Currie, and Cullip certainly isn't worth £500,000 in today's market by any stretch of the imagination.

Warnock adds: "It is a realistic fee with him coming to the end of his contract, having said that I would value him at double what we have paid."

The Mandy Rice-Davies quote comes to mind. Still, no pressure on Neil ;)

what if they go up this year via the playoffs £150,000
then get relegated next year, then go up via the playoffs again?

Could we get another £150,000?

Just a thought:D
