Bit harsh Lenny, Nige only had the one vote for Brexit, same as yourself
Watford every restaurant owner I’ve spoken to has cited Brexit as the original cause of their labour issues, long before COVID, Farage was huge architect of the victory, peddling all the lies about getting borders back, extra money going to the NHS etc.

I know he’s not everybody’s favourite on here, but I do wonder with a defeat for Brexit and David Cameron staying in Number 10 whether the UK would be in a different situation today?

I think everyone who has ever been a small business owner will have sympathy for small businesses struggling through this complete shitshow (particularly in the the sectors such as hospitality, the care industry, logistics, fishing etc that have been hit so hard).

Obviously, I believe it would have been hugely different if we had stayed in the EU and Cameron had stayed, hence why I voted for that, But, as you know, I don't like to mention it on here

Is that positive or negative old boy?
Given the current shitshow, which – admittedly – isn't ALL down to Brexit – I'd say positively different, wouldn't you?

It stands to reason that without the past six years, we sure as hell wouldn't be the same political, social or economic landscape we've got now!

Personally I felt he let the nation down by walking away, even with the Brexit result, he could have stayed and fought his corner. I’ve no doubt, though it might upset a few on here, that was a better PM by a country mile than anyone we’ve had since including the current resident of No 10.

Some might call it fate, Ted Heath famously asked the electorate in February 1974, when taking on the militant unions, “Who governs Britain?”. He won the popular vote but under our electoral system lost the election.

We then had 5 years of Labour rule, where the country effectively went to rat shit, so even nearly 50 years ago it was all about margins.

We all went to bed the night of the Brexit vote, thinking the remainers would have enough to get over the line. 🤷‍♂️

See, I never get this argument. The guy campaigned to stay in the EU and lost the argument, which was – in effect – a vote of confidence in HIM. Why on earth would – or should – he stick around? A 'remainer' staying in charge as the country 'leaves' the EU? Makes zero sense to me and gives him zero credibility.

The country voted to go in a direction that was the complete opposite of what he said he wanted, why would he still be in charge of that future? Can you imagine the stick he would get for it, probably from both 'sides' of the house.

And what 'corner' did he have to fight? To paraphrase Brexiteers, he lost – and he should get over it.

Anyway, enough of all that nonsense, let's get back to the puns.

Is it true that the place had an issue with rodents in the kitchen and was forced to call pesto control?
True - but pesto control had gnocchi to get in.

The Italian restaurant Donatello could be fined £120,000 and face losing its premises licence after six illegal workers were found.

Immigration enforcement officers raided the restaurant, in Brighton Place, Brighton, on November 9 after receiving intelligence and found a Russian man, four Uzbekistani men and a woman from the Ivory Coast.

The Uzbekistani men were arrested for breach of their visa conditions and detained and will be “dealt with according to immigration rules”.

You can't beat authentic Italian food...

It's not right to do this but the family have had a hell of a couple of years dealing with far more serious issues than this.

Very good point, I’d forgotten about this.

And let’s not forget Donatello does way more good to the local community than it does bad.
