Marvelous effort by Wiggo (plus Froome & Cav, obviously). :clap2:

No doubt they'll be dancing in the streets of Ghent tonight.

I can now name a famous Belgian :dunce:

Well if you couldn't name Eddy Merckx before then you've no business discussing Le Tour de France in the first place :p

:jester:

Carry on all, the surrealism going on in this thread is superb!

I'm afraid most people are already dancing/drunk here. It's the 'Gentse Feesten' at the moment. It started last saturday and finishes on monday, it always falls around July 21st, the national holiday which of course coincides with the TDF. Everyone should visit at least once and of course there's no shortage of beer here :)

a race should be a race and everyone in it should be trying as hard as they can to finish as near to the front as posible just my opinion though
this is why i dont watch (seems a bit like team orders in f1 not realy right)

That's like saying that in football the point is to score the most goals, so anyone who isn't trying to score goals should be trying harder to do so, even if that means the team they play for end up losing because of their selfish actions. Cycling (like football) is a team sport - different team members have their own role to play and only if everyone does what they're supposed to will the team succeed. Only a couple of players are going to score the goals, but they couldn't do it without the help of their teammates.

Sums it up nicely! I'll use this example if I need to explain it to anyone

According to ITV4 a few days back "The crumbs off the table of previous years have become great loves of bread hitting us on the head..."

I think today the boulangeries have thrown everything they have at us.
