They did! Warner was banned for the first two Ashes test matches and the press had a field day here and in Australia. Root or the Walkabout Bar where it happened didn't press charges so the incident never went to the police. Warner actually thought he was mocking Hashim Amla of South Africa, and accepted that he got it completely wrong.

Really, you think my post is condoning it? Not at all, I was pointing out that whatever had happened, it had obviously upset him a lot to get that reaction, unless he has a history of violence, which didn't think was the case.

How much provocation would it take to make you respond like that? I've no idea if I could ever get that violent/angry, more likely to walk away, but It would seem that some people can't do that. That said, if someone was to physically attack someone in my family perhaps I would retaliate, thankfully that scenario has never been put to me.

I posted c. #35 on this thread. If I drank red bull and jaegermeister, or re-hydrated with red bull, or drank it "since I was a kid", I'd have issues too. That is an exciting drink. IMHO. With due respect to the manufacturers, I am sure it's effects are entirely beneficial. Although opinions are divided.

Pretty much inevitable after the footage was released, which no matter how you look at it in terms of provocation, self defence etc. is going to end up as a day in court for Stokes, and no way and England team can pick a player with that hanging over them. Not sure what Hales involvement is, but simply being there at that time of the morning and being involved unfortunately is also enough to warrant his exclusion.

I can understand one professional sportsman with a load of non sportsman mates getting carried away on a night out with no one around to remind them of their responsibilities, but for 2 of them, and not either to say 'we should call it a night, we have a match Wednesday' is pretty damning for the pair of them.

Stokes is absolute box office at the moment, having won the IPL player of the year, he was the player the whole of cricket would have been tuning into see. What an idiot.
