.. and according to The Mirror he failed to meet deadline, No.10 will send *something* later, but it is unlikely to meet the criteria of what was requested.

Just to be clear no deal fans, this has NOTHING to do with Brexit.

Boris has now been given until Monday to explain to the oversight committee why the written response he gave (which didn't answer their questions) was marked "confidential" and "not for publication" when they can't find anything in it that er.. is.

The letter his solicitors wrote has now been leaked. Not only does it not answer the questions, it actually questions whether the oversight committee has the power to investigate at all.

If the last few paragraphs in that letter are accurate then it does look on the face of it that the Oversight Committee nor its members have the remit to start an investigation.

Apparently an official method was put in place to prevent Committees or individual members from starting such enquiries because they may be politically biased in doing so.

If an enquiry is justified then why hasn’t the Monitoring Officer of the GLA, (the person with the responsibility to call for an enquiry), called for one?

It is incredible, how we have gone from Theresa May's inept but honest government to the highly suspicious Boris Johnson government without a hiccup ? May was useless but at least honest, Johnson is useless and utterly dishonest yet gets away with it time after time.

Let's be clear, the investigation was started by that left wing rag The Sunday Times which uncovered the MPs expenses scandal.

Boris is simply refusing to answer any questions and his defence is that someone else is investigating.

Any why was the above letter marked confidential ? Just answer the questions man if you nothing to hide.
