Harsh and Booker is not even the assistant anyway! Slade has always been able to bring in his own people.

Good luck to him if true maybe Port Vale fans will pay him a bit more respect than some on here

They probably will for a few weeks until he starts picking the wrong players, playing the others out of position, and signing muppets!!!

Adams is a legend for what he did for us a few years back, but he has definitely lost the plot somehow.

Perhaps HE'LL show THEM a little more respect than he did to the fans here?

Or possibly he'll just serve up a load of shit, then tell them they 'just have to stick with it', and claim no-one ever told him they had to be out of the bottom four by ........

I hope he gets it purely through the intrigue it will generate to see how well he does. After his utterly disastrous spell here I find it slightly strange that the man still has the confidence in his ability to manage; you could sense in his interviews, his timid nature in the dugout and the effect he was having on the team that he was all but stricken of faith in his managerial 'talent'; either that or he was genuinely demented.

Many of us will expect him to fail at Vale, and rightly so. But if he does get the job, I for one will be interested to see his approach, whether it is the same ineptness he patrolled round with him here probably leading to similar failures or whether he changes his tack and actually takes up some kind of leadership of the squad complemented by good signings (please let it be Hawkins and Livermore) and tactical guile. Surely he won't be the same broken, futile man again?

Thank you Bob.
If I keep typing perhaps Steven Gerrard and Didier Drogba might be signing for the Albion ;)

If it is true,I am amazed Adams is on the shortlist for the 'Vale' job, having proved such a disaster for us.Heaven knows what he said at interview to explain away what went wrong at Brighton!!He completely lost the plot.
Anyway,I wish him well, but unless the man has made a remarkable recovery from a period of,what can politely be described as,sheer lunacy,I can only commiserate with the Port Vale fans.
Good luck to him if he gets the job,I hope he proves me wrong!

If MA gets the job he'll be making enquiries about Hawkins , McLeod , Livermore and El Abd to strengthen the Port Vale squad.

Booker is staying. He, White and Slade had a great working relationship at the end of last year and it produced results, why change a winning formula??

Who has mayo signed for?

No-one as of yet. Will probably be Adams first signing at Vale Park though.

Seems unlikely to me, unless Booker is sacked. he is happy at Brighton, he lives locally, his wife loves living here, Brighton have more ambition than Port Vale etc etc.

Also if Adams liked working with Booker so much why didn't he take him to Leicester or Coventry?

Albion may have more ambition, but he'll be on a higher wage as an assistant manager once again. Already been said but he tried to take him to Leicester but at the time he didn't want to move. Now his wife is no longer on radio, I imagine they will be moving soon.

If MA gets the job he'll be making enquiries about Hawkins , McLeod , Livermore and El Abd to strengthen the Port Vale squad.

Livermore was brought in here and never played, he'll likely end up somewhere else in League One. El-Abd I doubt will depart, as much as many of NSC want him too, at least he can be the scapegoat next season.

Offer of more money and working with a friend who brought him back into professional football.

Didn't MA initially bring him here, and try to take him to Leicester, before taking Alan Cork instead. He also brought him back here last summer from the Counties League I believe. If he didn't like working with him then he wouldn't have done that would he?
