I didn’t boo because I left before the end. And I probably wouldn’t have booed. But, I’m not going to judge those that did.

We’ve been shown what’s possible and we are throwing it away. That’s frustrating.

However, all change brings some instability, so we have to give it time.

Please don't suggest that Welbeck is one, with a career record of about 1:6. He lacks physicality, gets knocked off the ball all the time and certainly lacks a predators instinct. Five reasonable chances all gone begging in the last 4 games. Three pretty straightforward headers and two scuffed shots v Spurs from good positions.

All the while we were winning, Welbeck's lack of goals didn't seem to be a cause for concern. It was all "he hasn't scored but he's created all sorts of problems" etc. Now we're not scoring and everyone is looking at him.

Is Welbeck in the team to score goals or not? I think it's unfair to expect much from him when literally a month ago people (including the media) were lapping up his performances. Some people on the BBC match day feeds were even asking if he should be going to Qatar.

Yes, but that doesn't alter the perception of how much time has passed. It still seems a long time ago.

Time for another break from NSC i think. Doing my head in already, people moaning about RDZ when we had 8,9,10 game runs of not winning under GP each season, and not scoring goals at home etc
The guy has had 4 games, we have created enough chances in those games to win 8 games, exactly the same as we did under GP.
To expect him to make these players composed regular finishers in 4 weeks when GP couldnt do it is ridiculous.

exactly. Little subtle changes from GP but pretty much exactly the same, to suggest otherwise makes no sense to me.

If customers are paying good money and haven't seen a goal in three games then no wonder they feel peeved. Fans are used to the ups and downs of football.

Agreed and Forest fans went mental at the final whistle not because they’d scored a goal but because they hadn’t conceded one. Meanwhile a fair few Albion fans booed because we hadn’t scored one. Funny old game

A very frustrating watch for a number of issues. Forest and their Hughtonesque Wolves away tactics before his demise, the re-introduction of barn door finishing in training and one of the worst refs we've had in a long while. The loss of Potter seems to have affected the players confidence to me. Gross would have buried that chance a few weeks ago.

Whilst I'd agree with @Simster that a lot have short memories re Welbeck and the World Cup, it must be pretty unique that our strikers haven't managed a league goal between them.

I don't quite follow your point on Welbeck, but mine is that the praise for him earlier in the season was OTT, as is the current dismissal of him. Needs to put the ball in the onion bag.

I don't really have a point I suppose - which is the story of my NSC musings - other than it's weird we have a team that hasn't had a goal scored by a classical number 9 this season. That must be a record of some sorts.

Welbeck was the best forward on the pitch v Man united earlier in the season and his link up play against Liverpool was top drawer. Last night he looked like Maupay's long lost brother. It's been an odd feature of our team that the defence and midfield are generally consistent but the variance in performance from our forwards is often massive.
