Spectators react when player does something well. It is not out of order for them to also react when opposite is concerned. Have to be realistic Bong was having a nightmare defending. His job is to stop wide players crossing and should think from Bongs side they found it very easy. Of course I hear players been shouted at but nothing out of order. If you think players here get hard time you should go to West Ham. On few times watching them I have never heard anything like it when player is having bad game including Zamora against us

Struggling to remember a decent Fulham cross all game. Bong was getting beaten on the outside often in the first half, because he was leaving too much space. When he was got back in front of the winger he mostly prevented any decent ball into the middle I thought. He jockeys extremely well and so often shepherds players out/backwards without them getting a ball into the box

Lewis had to put up with this last year.
Now Gaetan.
No idea why one player has to be singled out (except that fat lump of shit Kemy)

I don't believe any of the Albion players deserve any "Agustien" behaviour towards them.

Brighton / Hove actually
Aspinall pointed out that Fulham deliberately put more players on Bong to close him down quickly. This could be because if they did the same with Bruno and he skillfully gets it to Knockeart it would leave them exposed on the right.

I think he has done a good job overall and our form, 8 wins, 3 draws, and 5 goals conceded in the last 11 games reflects that.

Unless Bruno has got a left footed identical twin then Bong is fine.

I dont think anyone is saying Bong is rubbish, far from it, he is a very good left back, but has been pretty inconsistent this season for me, at the moment I certainly would keep him IN the side.

Messing around with our defene at the moment would be stupid.

To be fair I think that most of our team were at best poor in the first half. Luckily they got to half time with only the one goal deficit and Chris Hughton was able to give them some pointers as to how they should play in the second half (or more likely a rocket up the backside) as they were markedly better in the second 45.
I don't think Bong was any worse than anyone else. I confess I do not like Stockdale as a keeper but he made three brilliant saves on Saturday including that one in the first half when he appeared to jet propel himself across the goal.

I'd currently stick with Bong, but if he doesn't pick his game up soon, then I'm sure we will see SP starting...

A few players in recent years that have been subject to this singling out;

Murray - in his first spell, 'lazy Murray.'
Barnes
Bruno (we've probably all forgotten now but there were loads of people on here having a pop when Sami was manager.)
JFC
Gardener
Leon Best
Stockdale
Lingard
Wilson

Looks like it's Bong's turn right now and I do sort of get it. It took him a long time to get back anywhere near his best. The good thing for Bong as that list demonstrates, we are wrong as often as we are right.

Personally I don't think he's quite playing at the level he was pre-injury but equally I don't see many opposing LB's that I'd swap him for.

I would agree with the assessment that he was poor in the first half and then became magnificent in the second half. That's also true of a lot of the team, particularly in mid-field, but I think Bong improved by more than anyone on the pitch.

Well I think it is a lot of bollocks. In East Lower it looked like Bong played well even in the first half even when Dale Stephens gave him less than ideal passes.

Fulham flattered to deceive a bit, hard to get the ball off them playing as 4-2-3-1 (defensive) and sometimes I reflected on the loss of our possession game when leading. But we weren't leading and we tried to get the ball forward a bit too much and lost out at times. When Bong went forward Dale Stephens didn't cover quite as well on the left hand side and his passes to Bong were unnecessary.

In short, Bong is as good of not better than any left back in the division.

Fulham were still better than Villa though.

You forgot Spanish Dave (what did he ever do for us...)

Bong is a very good player.

He was excellent. Then he got injured. He took a while to get back up to speed - although he worked hard even while struggling with his touch.

He improved pretty steadily, game on game, and after a few games back he was playing well again and being hailed as 'almost back to his best'

Then he had a weak half against Fulham, along with most of the team

I am not sure that even counts as inconsistent'. let alone crap

Team Bong

3 of those players are generally crap & we all know which ones ...

The list of "bad" Albion players is long.

Goes back in my memory to Malcolm Poskett and Teddy Maybank (neither of whom were Peter Ward...) - but Arthur Arkwright was probably "shit" in the season following the Charity Shield win...
