Board Disunity?

What do board members necessarily know about football, that players (and many of the fans) don't know?
They have got some moolah - so what?, that's often something that influences their decisions negatively, in this game.

Seems to be the case at the moment!

I spoke briefly to Dick yesterday and it seems to me that he wants Russell to stay the same as we do, but that there is more going on.
That is simply my interpretation from a short conversation. I am going to do my best to find out more.

That's the impression I get also. The real worry for me is that it won't be sorted out quickly, which is what we so desperately need. A summer long nonsense of deciding who our manager is would be disastrous, and ridiculous when the bloke is already here.

There is clearly disunity now because any normal club would have sorted this out before yesterday and had everything agreed by the board so that this week his two year contract could be announced along with the release of season ticket details. However it seems the club is being run for other interests than attracting fans at the moment.

Did you get the impression from Paul's comments that the board is not fully united and that there are fractions within it or are we reading wrongly in to something that isnt there.

Couple of conversations I had after the game with others ended up at a similar point. The rumors about Wise/Gannon will not go away, hopefully they are without substance but who knows. The Blooms appear to have the money, not many others do which tends to suggest the Blooms will get their way in the majority of cases, interesting times ahead I think.

If the board don't decide soon we will lose out on Slade as I suspect others are interested.

Blooms will decide and if they were persuaded by Dick over Adams will perhaps make their own minds up for a change.

My concern is that most clubs release their retained list very soon after the end of season and without amanager, whoever it may be, in place we are left to lag behind the players that are available.

I would go for Slade as I feel that he deserves it but after watching the way Stockport played wouldnt be against Gannon, whoever it is going to be lets get it sorted out very quickly.

We're obviously seeing the first visible signs of the power struggle for Falmer. All the time we were seeking permission we had to be united, but now we're building it the knives can come out. I think it looks very bad for Knight because the costly mistakes he's made (managerial appointments and sackings as well as the fiasco over Turienzo) will be held against him. It could mean that the proce we pay for Slade's appointment is him moving on (life president perhaps?).

They couldn't announce the retained list too early, or they'd have nobody to play in the Senior Cup Final tomorrow.

I think that most players are contracted until 1st June so we have the rest of May to sort it out and then allow next years manager to decide the retained list.

If he's a newbie who doesn't know the players how is he supposed to make considered decisions?

.

Every game is videod and also managers keep themselves up on players of other club, or there would be no transfers also trouble makers and bad trainers will be common knowledge amongst managers.

seems to me theres baggage with Slade related to his sharp exit from Yeovil. not enough to worry about to get us out of trouble but a cause for concern as a longer term appointment.

Meopham, Kent.
Thought it was more revealing what Nicky Forster and Tommy Fraser both said in just a few short words.
Particularly our club captain....certainly got us talking in the car home.

Can someone throw some light on this. What did Forster and Fraser say?

Slade was only contracted to the end of the season. Once he stops getting paid he will need to find a source of income. Cannot expect him to hang around whilst the board dithers.
