Where is the evidence that most members of non-Christian religions are intolerant of C of E members or make no attempt to learn English or receive any privileges (rather than being assessed on need) in respect of Council housing? Sounds like a litany of allegations with zero actual evidence to back it up to me (and I am an HR Manager for the biggest social landlord in London).

* Eligability for housing is determined by Part VI of the Housing Act 1996 amended by the Homelessness Act 2002. One of the aspects of this is that "a person subject to immigration control" is not eligable for housing unless given some form of leave to remain in the UK.
no doubt the legal case is correct, i think its moral f***ing outrage that peoplewho have lived in an area for generations are behind people on the list who have just arrived here, whether they have got children or not.

I'd probably feel quite annoyed that Margaret Thatcher prevented councils from investing the proceeds from selling off council houses in new social housing stock thus exacerbating the problem of shortages to the level we see today.
yes , of course that would be the first thing to spring to your mind.

I actually agree with most of what Mr Griffin says.

White people are the only ones who can claim to be truly English. It makes me laugh when a black person, Indian, Chinese (or even someone from Poland for that matter) tries to tell me they're English.
NO THEY'RE NOT.
They might have been born here, theeir parents might have been born here, but that does not make them English.
I have traced my family tree back to the 1600s, all in Sussex. That makes me English. Don't exactly know where the dividing line is or should be, but someone who has come from another part of the world a generation or so ago (whatever their skin colour) is certainly not English.
If I had been born in Nigeria and my parents had been born in Nigeria, but my family was from England, I would certainly not consider myself Nigerian. Replace Nigeria with Italy ... same thing.

Part of my family have lived in South Africa since the 1890's - should they go back where they come from or have they perhaps become White Africans?

Is it not more shocking that we have had 30 years of central government refusing to fund anything like the scale of social housing this country needs?

why do people seem to have such difficulty in understanding that people can grow up in one area but move to another one when they are older

We dont Bushy. It's you that seems to have great difficultly with this concept.

Oh dear. We are still calling The BNP fascist are we. I don't suffer from any self delusion at all.

Not answering the question either, Cov.

On some other threads you have expressed concern about issues of social justice and opportunity. Either that is a smokescreen to hide a right-wing agenda that has always acted against the interests of working people or you are backing the wrong horse.

As you will be aware the first victims of fascism tend to be the organised working class not minorities.

a typically evasive answer

Not evasive at all. Your post IMO is a "divide and rule" viewpoint. This country is wealthy enough to provide affordable housing for all that need it. The fact that is does not exist is due to the reactionary politics of the last 30 years not the fact that there is a minority population of non-white people in this country.

, seriously , i would have thought you have to be pretty intelligent to even get into cambridge, a 2:2 from there is a lot different to one from say, brighton university wouldnt you agree ?

Fair point, but if someone is to be held up as an educated politician their bench mark will be their peers...and he falls well short.

yes theren is some merit in what you say, but im afraid i'm from the " why the f*** should we" school of thought, i would rather get unemployed british people back to work and spend what wealth we do have on creating better conditions for our own.
