Not expecting much from today - a really tough fixture (as are five out of our last ten - West Ham, Birmingham, Reading and Middleborough to come) - but if we get anything out of this I really will start to think (faintly, at the back of my mind).......play-offs?

Massive six pointer for both clubs!

Beautiful sunny day here on the NW coast, blue skies, nice and warm, sell out home end, Seasiders well up for this one and should be a great atmospher as usual at Seasiders Way.
Few pints of guiness after the match, Brighton fans welcome everywhere, hope the one's that travelled have a great weekend, but watch Blackpool win 4-0.

Will Gus 'go for it' or will we go down the cautious route.

The cautious route I suspect, at least to start with. Blackpool are trying to psyche themselves out of their first slump of the season but I'd settle for a draw and will be ecstatic if we get a win. Its gonna be difficult though.

Head-to-head
• These clubs have only met 23 times, all league games, and there's nothing to choose between them. Each have won eight, with seven ending all-square.
• Blackpool are unbeaten in four against the Seagulls (W2, D2).
• Brighton last beat the Lancashire club at Bloomfield Road in September 2000.

Blackpool
• The Seasiders are three places and one point outside the play-offs, and return to Bloomfield Road after back-to-back defeats away from home. They last lost three successive league games in April, when a Premier League club.
• Ian Holloway's side have maintained the distinction as the only club to have scored in every Championship game in 2012, which is 13 matches. But they have also not kept a clean sheet in 11.
• The Tangerines boast the best recovery rate in the division, having salvaged an unrivalled 26 points from losing positions.

Brighton
• The fifth-placed Seagulls remain the only club with an unbeaten record in the top four divisions in 2012. They have won seven and drawn five of 12 games since defeat to Coventry on New Years' Eve.
• Despite their play-off placing, Brighton have the third weakest attack away from home in the division.
• While Blackpool have orchestrated the second highest number of goal attempts in Championship games this season, Brighton have the second lowest 310. Only Doncaster have fewer (302).
