The popular forecast is 1-1 or 1-2 Albion win with 52%. Highly unpredictable but over half have gone for two scores.

Miscellaneous useless knowledge: to my knowledge there has never been a 5-5 in British top class football. This is the game most likely for the Albion this season. I have gone for a 1-2 away win.

The biggest home crowd in the League this season for Blackpool is 13,520 and the lowest 11,414.

A draw wouldn't be a bad result today.

Chesterfield drew 5-5 with Crewe a couple of years ago - whether that counts as "top class" is debatable.

A hard game in prospect, I feel. We owe them something for mugging us for 2 points this season. We're in good form, would love it if it continued, but TBH, I fear not - I'd definitely take a point now if offered.

Complacency at the home 2-2 game. If we score first, I would be disappointed with a draw, but if they score first I would take a draw.

Well spotted. I am sure I have seen at least two 4-4 draws with the Albion. One may be against Crewe and the other Leyton Orient. That's my memory, so probably wrong.

BBC Sport - Football - Chesterfield 5-5 Crewe

Correction, I knew it about five minutes after I wrote it down. There was a 4-4 draw against Chester (not Crewe) at the Goldstone in the sixties with Barry Rees starring for the Albion (the first really really good player I had seen in an Albion shirt). Gates were lower in those days and the Goldstone average of 17,975 was the highest in the bottom two divisions and only exceeded by four clubs in the second tier.

I am trying to search my memory for a memorable match against Blackpool ? (I get them mixed up with Blackburn).

The most memorable was the last game of the season in 1977-78 when we won 2-1 but the 33,431 crowd were listening for the expected 0-0 draw between Southampton and Spurs. Blackpool could have escaped relegation of they had won and in the end the match did not mean anything to the Albion.

I have a bad feeling about today. Blackpool have suffered two losses, and after their last Ian Holloway apparently laid into the team, so I'm expecting a backlash. They were the first to take points off us this season, the first to get points at the amex, their pitch is supposedly quite horrible.

I always love these graphs and stats, but really, as soon as kick-off comes, it counts for nothing - with one team against another on the day, anything can happen.

They are suspect at set pieces, I'm expecting headed goal from a corner/fk today. Vokes to score.

BBC Sport - Brighton 2-2 Blackpool

How many will be playing this afternoon? Greer (100%) Bridcutt (95%) Barnes (60%) Mackail-Smith (40%) Calderon (10% chance) ?

PS: the 5-5 draw was not the highest aggregate score that weekend in the fourth tier. Gillingham scored four away from home.

Barnes has started the last 12 games in a row, why make him only 60% chance of starting today?
