Black Friday Massacre

But the massacre was on 29th. Nov. and Black Friday is a different day every year.

So your point is that there are two events which are not related, which don't share the same name and which rarely fall upon the same day?

I'm genuinely confused.

I am specifically referring to it as the dates coincide this year. Is it really that confusing?

I suppose it must be.

I suppose it must be.

Not only confusing but also pretty pointless.

Not to worry though. Next week I shall start a thread about how my dentist appointment coincides with the Battle of Waynesboro (1864) and call it Waynesboro Wednesday.

Okay. One more time. This particular event is pertinent because Thanksgiving (yesterday) is celebrated to give thanks to the Native Americans for helping the settlers. .

That's where your thinking breaks down. Thanksgiving isn't just about that. For goodness sake check it out before you make more false claims.

Okay. One more time. This particular event is pertinent because Thanksgiving (yesterday) is celebrated to give thanks to the Native Americans for helping the settlers. American wealth was largely built on exploiting the Natives. One of the most cowardly massacres of the natives took place at the same time yet it's not widely remembered, instead they go shopping.

Now you are just waffling to try and maintain some form of dignity.
I suggest you do not ever go into British history or any history for that matter, anyway as you were. Brilliant thread and a point well made

I didn't claim it was the only reason did I? I'm not gonna list every reason Thanksgiving is celebrated or we'll be getting back to Puritans and pagan harvests in 13th Century England, hardly relevant to the point I'm making.

What false claims? Please do feel free at any point to highlight any false claims as I would genuinely like to be corrected if I am wrong.

If anyone is interested in native American history I can recommend this.

None of your buisness
I thought it was interesting. And the inevitable 8 pages of verbal sparring may be interesting too, until the Truth gets involved and then we will all read something else.

Sorry, I'm busy today. If anyone wants to swear at me or send insults, then please don't be afraid to PM me at anytime:wink:

Tin foil hat pictures are welcome too.

And who the petty, nit picking, argumentative one is as well.

Who the petty? is that French?

Actually I pointed out to someone else who believed that what was posted actually was what black Friday was about and he tried to have a pop

No of course it is all me, because everyone on this thread can see you are the smart one

I'm not trying to be smart mate, just offering up a comparison. Agree with it or don't agree with it but at least understand it before you go into some childish, petty quarrell.

Just cos a few on here happen to side with you, hardly makes you an expert. I have stated nothing false. Look it up yourself. I am merely drawing a few conclusions. It is merely an opinion on FACTS, please don't let it ruin your day in any way.

You're quite right, I did have a bit of a pop. I apologise for that but not for my logic. Which is sound.
