Sad day for us and will be a massive loss but good move for Biss - Spurs could be in for a good season under an excellent manager. None of us will ever know the true price but wouldn't be surprised if it settles at £30m with add on's from the various reports. With a longer contract he's worth double that but it is what it is. We've had 4 brilliant years from him and doubled the price we paid.

Looking forward to Naylor's "I've been told the fee is a lot higher than the quoted figure" tweet.

Spurs mate of mine doesn't see how he gets in ahead of Bentancur and Hojberg.

Interesting angle but I can't see Biss going anywhere to warm the bench. Would imagine assurances of playing time have been given.
Your mate is wrong.

He's better than both and comfortably better the hojberg.

Look how far we have come since promotion to the “big time” little old Brighton has sold two players to bigger clubs in the last 12 months for about 80 million quid. We are competing strongly on all levels with them all, bring on the new season with maybe a canny signing or two and who knows where will be this time next year.:albion2:

Best fee we could've hoped for, considering the contract situation. Just glad the saga is finally over.

Really must keep the rest though and maybe add one/two (particularly a CB).

Keeping Groß was superb business for us.

Spurs and their entitled fans is a bad enough one to have to swallow, but at least it wasn’t Arsenal I guess, that would have been wholly unpalatable.

My only concern about this is loosing a player who has the ability to win the ball so easily. He seems to endlessly come away with the ball whether he should or shouldn't. Moises is probably a better finisher but Biss was so solid in MF that I don't think we can easily replace that.

Spurs are getting a 50m player for cheaper so good deal for them but we’re getting 30m+ plus adds ons for a player with 1 year left on his contract, which is probably fair in that situation. I don’t think we can grumble too much if overall we get around £35m.

I am happy that if he is going, it is happening quickly and early. It would have been dreadful to let it drag out until August.

If we are getting a replacement in, hopefully we will also work quickly to get the deal done.

Sky reporting £25M, BBC £30M.

Do I hear any advance on £30M? I am giving Fair Warning.

Not sure if Naylor is saying £30m + add ons or £30m+ if the addons are included.
I suspect the latter.

Not that it really matters, it will be undisclosed fee and we won't ever know whether the add ons have been triggered or not.

I know a lot of experts will tell me different, but £25M seems a very low price to me (and looking at Twitter, it looks that way to Spurs and Manchester United fans too). It feels to me that if he'd been moving between two top six teams rather than coming from little old Brighton he wouldn't be as cheap as £25M ... I thought we'd cracked that one with the sale of Ben White last year, but maybe not yet. I'd have liked to see a bidding war too!

Ah well, ultimately it's none of my business - and suggestions from Cantor and co. that it might be a bit more than that are very welcome, if true. Whatever the price though, I am disappointed that it's Spurs he's going to. Much rather it was somewhere else!

Wonder if the reporting - none as yet afaik - from the local reporters close to the club might have a different take on size of the fee and the progress of the deal ?
Naylor ( next week ) - "I am led to believe the size of the fee is substantially higher than the reported amount".

Its hard to verify actual transfer/contract deals but there’s plenty of reporting to suggest it’s not £25m now. But “north” of that figure + add ons. But he had 1 year left. And We’ve had lots of brilliant value from him.
He wanted champions league football, wouldn’t sign a contract , and club to help with future buys want to show that this pathway exists if you come here. So it’s no surprise.
There also haven’t been “numerous failures” , there have been several over 6 years - but also numerous bargains. (See Cucurella, Gross, Veltman, White, Sanchez, Caicedo and so on)

Largely agree but Jahanbasshk and Locadia get a lot of mileage in the failure stakes , onwards and upwards , nowt we can do about it if Bissouma wants CL football , i can't help feeling like i'm watching some fit as **** bird whose just given me the ride of my life leave my house never to be seen again....:moo:

Happy with 30m given he has 12 months left.

And, my problem with Biss is simple - when he's brilliant, he's world class, but his head can go down and he either loses it or just can't be bothered and wanders around aimlessly.

I've loved having him here, but I'm more excited by Mwepu and Caicedo.
