According to Birmingham Live, "The Daily Mail are reporting that Villa have "decided against" making a move for Bissouma, who has long been admired by Steven Gerrard and his coaching staff."

Wonder if any clubs in the top flight don’t admire Biss?

Brighton and Hove Albion rejected a bid of around £35 million for Yves Bissouma from a Premier League rival earlier in the transfer window.
They had active discussions with three different clubs about the defensive midfielder, while a fourth club were "on the edge" of the interest, according to a well-placed source.
A bidding war is likely for Bissouma in the summer transfer window, when he will have a year left on his contract.

No way he’s being sold now unless we receive an absolutely stupid bid

Well Villa fans don't think he's very good at breaking up play, so I'm going to have my eyes tested for the next home game as I've been seeing things.

Biss is one of best, if not the best, in the league for that. Some of the tackles he makes he has no right to succeed with but does. & often so cleanly taking the ball and keeping it under control in one motion.

If he leaves for Villa I’ll lose serious respect for Yves. Would mean his ambition is completely secondary to money. Gerrard will be gone in a couple of years to Liverpool and Villa will implode in an FFP shitstorm.

Controversial but I believe Tony would prefer Bissouma to leave on a free rather than sign for a non-big six. Villa are a direct rival, they won’t be getting our best player. Not a chance.

According to my sauce Biss wants to go a London club and doesn't fancy going up north or the Midlands.

I saw a clip online somewhere, where that journalist Fabrizio Romano said his sources said that Newcastle were also interested in Biss, but that Villa and Newcastle would struggle to get him because he wants to go to a Champions League club.

I would imagine Newcastle may have some pull in the summer if they stay up, but I think Villa have no chance. As soon as the police issue is done and dusted and everyone is sure he's not going to end up in court, bigger clubs than Villa will beat them to him.

But personally I wouln't care if he went to Villa as long as the price was right. Its clear he's not going to sign a new contract, and the summer will be our last chance to sell him for decent money. If a few clubs are in for him, and we could get £30 million+, I don't really mind where he goes.
