Every time they cut to Son tonight he looked despondent, the face of a man who has wasted 10 years of his career playing for a club that can’t win anything.
I actually felt sad for him when I saw he signed a new contract recently. I know it's his decision and he's making a shedload of cash but he is far too good a player to have his entire career wasted with them. At least he won the Asian games I guess..

I hated Kane when he played in the PL (the backing in, 'clever play' to win pens, favourable decisions from refs etc) but I actually hope he wins the Bundesliga this season.

Kane wird in der Bundesliga nichts gewinnen.

Well, as others have said on here, he was great for us.

I was gutted when he left, but Moises was.........exceptional. But Biss for Brighton was NOT the BIss for Spurs, ever. Gutted for them ;)

Agree on Son. I hate Spurs more than anything else, but Son deserves better than this.
But he’s been poor for a quite a while now too and is one of Spurs (many) problems, they need to replace him. He’s nowhere near the player he was 5/6 years ago.

Their biggest problem is the manager though, he’s hopeless. Take away the first three/four months of last season and his record is absolutely appalling.

I don't know of course but I suspect that an unlikely return to Brighton would be a disaster for Bissouma and Brighton; the club and he have moved on and it's almost always a mistake to go back..... almost always

Yeah, I agree, he's not the same player he was. I just meant that looking back on his career is a bit sad, no trophies. Cred for being loyal to the club though, we don't see that often nowadays.

Sorry for being slow, but how has Bissouma been 'loyal to the club'? Do you mean loyal to Spurs? If so, I suspect he is on a very good salary and so such 'loyalty' is scarcely tough for him... although I do recognise he would want more first team opportunities.

Would you argue in modern times the only real exception to that was Glenn Murray?

Fozzie’s return in 1992, ended up being scuppered by the civil war at the club, Foster when meeting Bellotti spoke up for all of us and never played again 🤷‍♂️

Not on the same scale, but I'd say Bobby returning was a success. It was the last move of his career but he made a good contribution in the season we finished 3rd supporting Tomer Hemed.

Big drop off in standard from Glenn to Bobby, I'll grant you. Murray is very much the exception that proves the "never go back" rule

Apologies sort of overlooked Bobby, which is a feat in itself as he resigned for the club on the my birthday 3/8/15, and the news topped off a great night out with my family. 👍

I would..... although I would add that for a numerous reasons both for the club and Glenn Murray, it was 'unfinished business'. He continued to live in Brighton, had a partner from the city etc......

And he never wanted to leave in the first place, Poyet thinking 15 grand a week on CMS was better than the 12k Murray wanted. 🙈
Massive error of judgement and I never understood the rationale; but at least Poyet recognised the immense skills of Lewis Dunk.

I would take a risk on Biss coming back. Alongside Baleba we’d potentially have a powerhouse midfield. I gather non football reasons will make this a no no though. He has looked a shadow of the player he was for us, he cannot have lost it surely?

Foster wasn't a disaster though, despite us being shite and him coming to the end of his career. He certainly formed a decent partnership with a young Paul McCarthy who was one of the few bright sparks of that era, seeing a young lad from the academy come through and put it all on the line for us.

In more modern times Steve Sidwell and Bobby Zamora had decent second spells with us (technically it was Bobby's third spell). Kazenga Lua Lua had 4 different spells with us and none of them were a disaster, although they all seem to pale into one, he did make a few Newcastle appearances in between loan spells.

Struggling to think of any players who had disastrous returns to the club? Adam Virgo maybe, certainly didn't seem to be the player he was before we sold him to Celtic.

Managers should never go back though. Mullery and Adams were both crap second time around.
