Factual though it is, I don't like the sound of "Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Yves Bissouma"

Pleased for him though. Time for all to move on

The club handled that superbly. If he was anywhere else he would have most likely missed the vast majority of the season and chances are he wouldn't have just signed for Tottenham. We did the hardest thing possible, carried on without judgement.

Congratulation Mr Bissouma and well done Brighton.

Well...we just carried on playing our best midfielder. It wasn't THAT hard, tbf.

I think it was one of the hardest things to do. Last season the so called Prison Fc became one of the best clubs on the planet. Most of those players were dropped by their clubs for PR purposes. We kept a dignified silence and just carried on exactly as we did before the allegation. That is far from easy.

I'm sure we did our due diligence before continuing to play him.

Quite possibly, and maybe the club trusted Bissouma. But there is no doubt the club would have had a lawyer look into all of the details.

Which they would have got from the Police I would imagine, most other clubs would have suspended him until their lawyers looked.

He was never charged with anything though, it was just an allegation. I think it would have been incredibly harsh if the club had banned him from playing since last October on that basis.

It's a rubbish headline - it was Brighton midfielder Yves Bissouma that was accused!

I was pretty sure it was all bollocks when he was released 'pending investigation' while his friend/companion/minder (or whatever) stayed on bail while he was allowed to go free, travel abroad, etc. IMHO, they were just trying not to look silly for unnecessarily marching him out of a nightclub in handcuffs - bit of OTT glory-hunting (we've collared a celebrity!) going on there, I think. Plod had face to save.

Not that plod would ever dream of doing anything like that of course...............................

I'm always disappointed on how long these things take to sort out. Almost 9 months for this to end and Biss has had it hanging over his head all this time.

Sure they need to investigate and get all of the facts, but 9 months is ridiculous. If you took the number of actual hours worked on the case and did it intensively, probably easily get it sorted in a week or 2.

Anyway, pleased for Biss that it's all sorted out for him

But clubs do.
Yeah I'd like an example too. I just don't think it happens if they're vital to the team. See also, Joey Barton at Bristol Rovers last season. On a charge for assault (attacking an opposing manager in the tunnel), went to court etc. At no point was he suspended from duty.

Mendy ? Hasn't been found guilty of anything yet.
Greenwood ? Likewise
