In todays Daily Mirror they say that Southampton are favourites to get Billy Sharp i January for £2m but us and Ipswich are in the chase. 2 obvious questions is there any liklehood that we will get him and if Southampton are favourites to sign him that would give them an abundance of strikers any that we could go for like Lambert or Barnard. They are also reputed to be going to sign the Coventry striker.

Well we signed CMS when we all thought we had no chance. So yes, as we have a lot better prospects than Donny (no offence) yes we have a wee chance. But i expect the likes of Leicester and Hammers would be sniffing if he didn't go SCC

We have Lambert, Barnard, Connolly and Guly. Barnard is in a lot of trouble, Connolly is injured and Guly isn't an out and out striker. I believe we're likely to get him (if we are indead in for him) as he has previous with Adkins. The reason he didn't join in August was because O'Driscoll was still the gaffer. Sharp was loyal to the gaffer, not the club, now O'Driscoll's gone, it wouldn't suprise me if he leaves.

If Southampton got him and Jutkiewicz that would be a pretty scary choice of strikers, with Lambert and Guly. That on the assumption Barnard goes to prison, horrid little man, and Connolly spends more time in the treatment room than Vicente.

That said, I'd bloody love it if we got him. Mackail-Smith/Sharp/Hoskins/Barnes is not a bad choice from 4 either.
