Our other CMs weren't fit to start, and probably made us worse when they came on, despite Gomez's flashes of quality. Didn't really have a choice.

But fair enough, let's take consistent dogmatism over occasional flexibility lest the latter fail to secure all three points every week.

I mentioned the injuries several times, RDZ suffered that too big time yet a few here won’t allow it as a reason for bad results. Odd.

It definitely hampered our season, it was catastrophic. But you still have agency as a manager, you can adapt your tactics to the injury list and I never got the sense RDZ was willing to, easier to whine about a lack of reinforcements. Anyway, Billy Gilmour.

No problem. The various bits of info I’ve ever garnered from the Albion came from a current board director and two very senior StarLizard employees. ALL of them were GRANITE about releasing even the smallest detail about the workings of the club. It’s cultural and driven by Tony.
I think in all reality most of these links come from people not employed by the club, a lot of family and friends. The manager does have some input as we wouldn’t have sold Trossard for example, who if it wasn’t for his fall out with RDZ could have stayed. The decision to move Billy Gilmour on likely wasn’t solely FH’s decision, but him not fancying him must have played a large role in him leaving, is what I gather. It wasn’t said there was a big fall out or anything. I personally was pretty non fussed about Gilmour moving on, but can see the experience lost now, his lack of contribution is what I think is a lot of the reason we look toothless in attack now. He moved the ball around a lot quicker than anyone else, but a lot of it is down to manager instructions. There’s no reason Ayari, Wieffer or O’Riley can’t do what Gilmour did, but needed bedding in time. An example of probably letting him go 6 months to a year too early.

From the genuinely ITK NSC’er (not us), Gilmour was determined to join Napoli months before he departed. His professionalism to the end, unlike Sanchez, gives the false impression to those looking for 2+2=5 that FH ushered him out of the door.

That wasn’t that it all. BG wanted to seize the Napoli opportunity before a 2024/25 ball was kickes, it was simply about TB being okay with the fee.

Being a dick in training....

I am not an RDZ fanboy, but....

However I expect if FH really wanted Gilmour to stay, he would’ve or the fee would have been a lot higher.

Gilmour was set on the move. Rarely (Zaha and Kane highly paid prisoners for years) do clubs control the destiny. We know TB doesn’t play that game.

Could FH influence the fee?
