Reinforces what a crazy decision it was from RDZ to put Encisco on instead of Billy in the Villa game.Don't see him going permanently in January, but he needs to play football and I think he'll go on loan. Like 20 minutes in the PL so far... at this rate he'd end up with somewhere around 90 (if even that) in total before the season in over. Not good for him, not good for Brighton.
I think, if he leaves, there will be a new midfielder for the DMC roles... possibly someone who is defensively a bit better than Billy is.Weird one, as he seems perfectly suited to De Zerbi's formation with two deep-lying midfielders, he's just blocked by Mac Allister and Caicedo. However, given they're both on 4 bookings, you'd expect Gilmour to come in for two games they miss, plus Charlton (A) plus Boro (A). That's probably 4 games he'll play in the short term, and you'd hope he'd do enough to stake a claim for more playing time for the second half of the season. Then when either Mac Allister or Caicedo move on for big money, you'd hope that Gilmour would step up to replace them in the first XI.
This. So much media BS about in football that it's hard to take anything serious.Mac Allister had to bide his time before he became a regular, no different to Billy is now.
We've had a run of players in very good form including Gross, Lallana, and the obvious Caicedo and Mac. When things are going well, you don't want to tinker too much, but reckon his time is coming as we start packing in the games in the new year.
He’s got Ali Mac and Caicedo ahead of him……that’s whyStruggling to understand why he is getting so little gametime tbh, seems a good player who should fit our system well.
Can only see him being allowed to leave (presumably on loan) if we're bringing in Cifuentes.
I’m not sure exactly why he didn’t fit in at Norwich but it could be he’s simply got some growing up to do - young confident 21 year olds with a lot of talent maybe a bit of a daft so and so in the dressing room? He clearly has talent but you need to be a good fit with your team mates too. Just saying.I'd like to see him given a chance, but I guess he must be stinking the place out in training and/or RDZ just doesn't fancy him.
Until the summer. He’s got Ali Mac and Caicedo ahead of him……that’s why
Maybe he's neither stinking the place out nor not fancied by RDZ. In Caidedo and Mac he has two fantastic inform players who have developed an outstanding partnership.....Well this looks like £9m well spent dunnit. Gilmour must be absolutely macked off at his situation. Played in a shit Norwich team, got abused by the fans and relegated. Gets a permanent move to a progressive PL club, then straight away the manager cops off and he's stuck pissing around in the U23s.
