Writing off a player who has not had game time due to the form of the incumbents, how very NSC. I do remember similar comments about Mac Allister though when he couldn’t break into the team and he had more time on the pitch than Gilmour has had.

As long as he is not making waves through his frustration at not playing I don’t see us getting rid.
I agree that Gilmour should absolutely not be written off - I think even sending him out on loan could perm damage this young lads career at this point - I also don’t think having an existing great partnership in midfield is mutually exclusive to taking on up and coming youngsters with a view to first team squad who are clearly already seasoned in international and PL football.

- I think there were issues at Norwich but not to do with Billy’s play - The Canaries were already heading towards one of their yoho visits to the CL and Gilmour was supposed to be the great white hope - that’s a helluva lot of pressure on a 20 year old who probably would have been better staying at Chelsea at least under Farke. Gilmour got more play under Smith but the Canary fans were not happy with their Club’s performance and they turned on Gilmour like a pack of Hyenas - it wasn’t Billy’s fault that Norwich had a severely weakened frontline or that he was completely over-hyped as the panacea to end all ills with Norwich.

It would understandable if there is some emotional baggage and frustration with Gilmour right now, it can’t do much for your ego to play for an international team and a top 6 club to end up in a relegation club for a year then get largely blamed for that club not doing well! However, think RDZ is the perfect manager to help build his confidence up where needed and he will continue to help improve his skills in training -

When were there only 11 good players in a squad!? - if we loose either Caceido or Mackie in transfer, to temporary injury, or match ban then I would like to think we have some really strong midfield alternatives.

Possibly peaked a year or so ago. Tuchel didn’t think he is currently good enough and RDZ doesn’t give him game time. Time to move him on.
He’s got Mac Allister and Caicedo in front of him, a lot of players better than Gilmour would struggle for game time ahead of those two.

It’s ridiculous to suggest we should be moving him on after a dozen games, injuries and suspensions will hit and he’ll get a chance.

Are the same people who are bed wetting about the inevitable sale of most of our first team in the Crimbo window the same people who think we need to 'get rid' of anyone not currently in the first team?

Asking for a friend.

Tuchel didn't want to sell him though and he was overruled by the hierarchy at Chelsea. Considering he's 21, I think it's madness to simply write-off a multi-million pound player off the back of the fact that he can't get a game ahead of Caicedo and Mac Allister. That's the Caicedo who was sent out on loan to a crap Belgian team last season and Mac Allister who spent his 1st 18 months on loan having signed for us at just 20 years old.

Sanchez didn't get in the 1st team until he was 23 because Ryan was in the way, Lamptey doesn't get in ahead of March, Sarmiento is blocked by Trossard, van Hecke is blocked by Dunk, Webster and Colwill and Enciso is blocked by Gross/Tross etc. Should we bin all of them off too?

How soon is now?
BBC gossip has the Times reporting a possible loan to Villareal in January.
I really can't work this one out. Caicedo and Mac Allister are both close to totting up bans so he should get his chance. If he doesn't based on that, then I can only think that de Zerbi doesn't rate him

Corrected for you

I wonder whether we have a quality midfielder incoming in January which means that Billy feels a loan move is needed. Someone who is well known to Roberto? Who knows.
Or maybe this is all just bollocks.

It doesnt feel very BHAFC to be so ruthless with a player and bin him after 14 games of a season. It also just doesnt make sense, he's looked pretty tidy on the ball when he's played. Hardly someone who had an absolute stinker and obviously needs shipping out. Im calling bollox on this, or at most its loan to enable a more speedy development.

And then those same people who want to get rid, are completely stunned when these players finally get a chance to step up to the first team and, like Sanchez, Caicedo, AliMac, Mitoma, etc, etc appear to be completely prepared for the challenge almost like it was planned :lolol:
