I for one am deeply saddened at the evident rise of the far right in the UK. Are we all not citizens of the world, it's 2009 ffs, I say live and let live folks. It's not much better here at present with all the hysteria over the evil scourge that is "boat people" - imagine trying to make a better life for yourself. I was lucky enough to get job sponsored here, these refugees are just trying to do the same the only way they can.
Perhaps it's just indicative of the GFC, in hard times people close ranks and turn on the unfamiliar etc..., maybe I am just naive, but frankly it concerns me.
Go on then, let the vitriol flow....

ask yoursef why you felt it necessary to move to australia, then start preaching about "citizens of the world, saddened by the rise of the far right" etc

for a better life, which I have now, IMHO. My point is that not everyone is so (as I consider myself) fortunate to get such an opportunity to broaden their horizons and that we shouldn't dismiss people who want better for themselves. Wasn't aware I was preaching, just voicing my personal concerns...

I've always wanted to know why Anglo-Saxon countries are such magnets for people all over the world.

So when lots of 'boat people' arrive, work for lower wages than you, live in ghettos, see people like you having a better life and then decide that they want the same by fair means or foul, will you up sticks and move again? If so, why not keep them out in the first place?

There's a surprise. Somebody makes a post about their concern about the far right and within 31 minutes our three resident racists are on the case.

Could any of you name an Albion player without looking it up on the internet?

and end up like the aborigenes or native americans. No thanks

yes, because its the same thing, and thats likely to happen.

because of the work ethic and oppurtunity for all to better themselves. the irony is many "natives" dont seem to take advantage of the same and would rather blame immigrants for their personal failings.

(oh and we dish out some lush benefits to all comers, so it not all positive)

Over time it is very likely to happen. Whose blaming the immigrants. I am blaming the government

Griffin keeps on staying stuff like this, I don't you know what you're saying. Are you saying the British(the bizarre, obsolete all-white, Christian idea you seem to think we are) are uneducated, weak and more interested in nature than in money?

i'm somewhere between a commie and a hippie, but i think immigration needs to be all but zeroed for four reasons:

1) it accounts for the majority of population rise here, and there are too few resources for this increase to continue
2) the preservation of indigenous culture
3) an operable welfare state
4) to stop the talent drain from countries who need it far more than we do

If you feel like that, why not come back over hear and see the mess the Country is in for yourself? In times like this, who needs even more scrounging foreigners to feed?
