I cant believe no one has said this ....The price of stamps!!!

youve got to be kidding, for less than a quid you put an envelope in a red rural post box in sussex and it ends up in a front door on an estate in Edinburgh in under 48 hours?

how much would that cost you to take yourself?

Pester your landlord as they are installed for free. Got mine done last year and have reduced my bill by over a third - well worth it for single occupancy dwellings.

Good stuff...will do that :)

If for any reason a water meter can't be installed ask for the single person discount. They will need to see a copy of your Council tax bill to apply the discount.

When I worked at RSCH some years ago and parking was free...yes, it was YEARS ago the car park was always rammed with day trippers taking the piss and no one needing to use the car parks for actual hospital business could get in.

Free parking at places like Arrowe Park in Birkenhead or Rotherham Hospital is unlikely to get abused because no bugger wants to go to them for recreation in the local area. Free car parks in tourist towns like Brighton or shopping destinations like London would be abused big style.

Surely it can't be that difficult to provide controlled parking where patients with an actual appointment get a parking voucher which is used on a 'first come, first served' basis which would stop tourists and the like parking?!

My annual investment to a Nigerian Widow who says that i will eventually get my millions but again bureaucratic red tape is delaying my transaction. After sending her money to release the funds for nearly six years now, I am getting a little suspicious.:annoyed:

Printer ink....completely outrageous. Two cartridges for my printer cost more than, er, the printer..........
Pick n mix and bags of sweets at the cinema
Package holidays in the school holidays
Ticket booking fees - including when I have to print the bloody thing at home (using my expensive printer ink FFS)
Airport parking
'Official' Ipad/Iphone accessories

Petrol, anywhere in Mid Sussex. We have to pay around 5p a litre more than residents of Brighton or Crawley. I mean, what the absolute f..k is that for? Robbing *******s at the petrol companies

in the opposite way, petrol round Eastbourne has always seemed to be 2-3p cheaper than elsewhere in East Sussex, for no reason that i can fathom. also, BP garages typically charge 2p more than nearby branded garages. neither of these can be explained by supply/demand, the petrol market must be broadly the same across most the home counties and certainly BP has no different costs to the others in the same street.

... and have to question the opening rip off. £60 to London from where thats 42 min? thats a first class ticket with travel card isnt it? pretty sure a ticket from Brighton is half that even peak time.

Interesting thread
I find paying the same amount of council tax for a one bedroom flat as many three bedroom houses a disgrace,i pay the same as many mates, bloody disgusting. The water bill also facks me off...I pay the same as many who have 3 bedroom houses with kids etc, when i explained this to thames water they said the landlord should put a meter in,as if he would!!
Why can't they work out the bill on the circumstances?

You have to seriously question how these things are worked out as its bloody shambolic that they get away with it,no wonder why so many struggle to pay their bills.

You can get them to come fond and install a meter, it's up to the tenant how the utilities are managed. Can gt it reversed when you move out if need be. And I wholeheartedly agree about stamps, superb value. You could always take the letter there yourself but I'm not sure how far a 74p train ticket would get you!

I now live on Hampton Court but visit Brighton often but at short notice. When I lived in Brighton I did the reverse journey often.

Brighton to HC - £28.40

HC to Brighton -£36.40

Same train. Same route. Same stops. Rip off *******s.

The Albion are as guilty as anyone when it comes to rip-off booking fees. It still grates with me that I can be standing in front of the ticket office staff at the counter, no postage or processing required other than scanning my ST card number and physically placing in my hand a ticket for an away game (or a home cup game), and then being charged a quid per ticket for the privilege.

I know it's only a quid, and in the grand scheme of things (thirty quid a ticket or whatever) it's insignificant, but it's the principle that pisses me off.

Yep. Is the same if you go to book a cheap day return from Victoria. Far pricier to go from Victoria to Brighton than vice versa.

You have to say its exceptionally worrying the way the cost of things are rocketing compared to wages. You go to the supermarkets and look at the cost of things...bog rolls and kitchen rolls, bags of frozen chips, bread.
The product's that really are shocking is the yoghurt's and cheese, fack me look at the prices:lolol:

Although a luxury I always find it boggling that HMV, the ones that still exist still charge up to 17 quid for a new relax DVD. Have they learned nothing?
