Anyone else tuning in? Tonight's Main Event:
Amir Khan (Champion) vs. Scott Lawton (Challenger) for the Commonwealth Lightweight Championship.
Lawton, although he comes into this fight as the reigning English Lightweight Champion, should not give Khan too much of a test I don't think. I feel that if Khan is so minded, he could blow him away fairly quickly, but I think it more likely that he'll get a few good rounds under his belt without being pushed too much, before stopping Lawton in about 5 or 6.
Not sure whether it's being shown or not, but keep an eye out for the chief support contest between Martin Concepcion and Bradley Pryce for the Commonwealth Light-Middleweight Title. Both men have KO power and both can he hurt, so expect fireworks.
For the record, my predictions for tonights other big fights:
Samuel Peter KO4 Jameel McCline (Interim WBC World Heavyweight Championship) - Peter will be fired up and wanting to make a statement after the postponement/cancellation of his fight against Oleg Maskaev. McCline should be durable enough to last a few rounds, but Peter is a lethal puncher and should win comfortably.
Manny Pacquiao KO9 Marco Antonio Barrera - As great a career as Barrera has had, he's fighting on too long for my liking (as have so many others before him). No doubt he'll give it everything that he has as always, but I suspect Pacquiao's shots will tak their toll on him in the second half of the fight and take him out, after which MAB will hopefully retire.
