Better than under McGhee?

For all his faults I dont think I ever saw a McGhee team play that badly, and that was invariably against much better opposition.

And before people start saying its McGhees team, that doesnt wash, this is the team that Dick Knights sales policy has given us minus that player everyone loved Mark McCammon, and a jumped up prick called Leon Knight.

McGhee was a class manager but he's gone. We need some leadership from the top, not more scapegoats for a lack of investment. Time for the board to hold their hands up and admit that we are a club who need to back our managers not hang them out to dry whilst they sit in their ivory towers.

Just admit that there is nothing in the pot DK and be honest with us, no amount of spin is going to help. I can live with that but not the scapegoating.

Seems to be the case...

Mark McGhee, Dean Wilkins, Arsene Cocking Mourinho, It wouldn't matter who was in the dugout, we'd still be shit.

I disagree, however crap the players are, you can ask a couple of things of them and that's to give their all in effort and to be organised. They were neither otday against a Blackpool side who on paper are really no better than ourselves.

Always a bad sign when the players want a manager from within the ranks-means they're all shit scared of losing their jobs if an outsider comes in.

Yes, contrast with Crewe. They have no money and were relegated but they believe in being loyal to good managers trying their best.

They are just outside the play-offs spots and we are a heartbeat away from the relegation spots. Go figure.

wherever the money is
We were worse against Cheaterfield Chez. That game was the worst performance I have ever seen from all my years as a Albion supporter.

Figured. Never had a problem attracting players, largely due to their geographical position to the the North Wests big club but somebody who has also been around for many many years.

Anyway, that's irrelevant. Getting rid of McGhee was still right, but putting Wilkins in charge was not, and I said that last week before the Chesterfield game.

When the chants of what a 'what a load of rubbish' went up, I turned to my mate and said: 'What on earth must be going through Dick Knight's head now?'. If either of them have got any pride, one will say to the other, 'OK, this might have been a bit hasty. You hold the ship until I get somebody else in.'

Might sound alarmist after two games, but for a new manager to suffer such a woeful defeat so early in the piece is very bad for the confidence, and this might kill the kids as it threatened to do four years ago.

Why o why did we not learn from that mistake.

That game didnt matter though did it, and Stoke are a million times better than Blackpool.
