To me it looks like its just a mark on the lens, Tiger doesnt look to be the the right position when the ball is still that close to him

He duffed his shot which is why it hit the photographer (or his camera) when he was standing in a position that was out of Tiger's supposed firing line.

Possibly taken from the far side of the green with a zoom lens and the ball much closer to the photographer (and therefore out of focus) than the picture would suggest

I seem to recall there was a wider version of this on the front of Time (?) Magazine showing him just about to land in the sand. That's a big ask for for bog roll and savlon.

Not the case - he duffed the ball, it only travelled a few feet and didn't reach the green
