Manics - Brixton 01

My first ever real gig and my all time favourite band. Seen them loads since but this was still the best I think.

Radiohead - Manchester 03

Just before Hail to the Thief was released. First Radiohead gig that wasn't a festival. Brilliant.

Muse - Glasto 04

Although over time i've fallen out of love with Muse they still remain an amazing live band. This was the highlight of Glastonbury for me that year.

David Ford - Komedia 05 I think

First time I saw former Easyworld frontman David Ford do his solo work live. Breath taking stuff. Puts so many of the crap singer song writers like James Blunt and James Morrison who get loads of exposure to shame.

Loads of others but those are the top ones.

Madness reunion at Finsbury Park August 9 1992 supported by Ian Dury (RIP) and the Blockheads, Morrissey (why?), Flowered Up and Gallon Drunk.

I hope you wasn't one of the people that gave poor Morrissey so much shit that he didn't turn up for the next day when I went...bless him :lolol:

I'm surprised at so many people putting big open air events. IMHO, these are universally crap, where the sound is dreadful, you can't see anything and you have to queue for ages for drink, bogs, drugs etc.

I've only been to a few of these but I can't say that any have been even halfway good.

The RAR event in Victoria Park in 1978 was particularly naff as I recall, with a sound system that sounded like it had been buried under Thames mud for half a decade.
