And the worst .... 1-0 defeat at Carlisle. We honestly travelled up full of optimism, and 15 mins in we were 1-0 down and looking shite, wondering why on EARTH we had made the trip.

Southend away 2nd season for Micky Adams in charge i think, one of mates couldn't make it and we sold his ticket to guy in a pub on the seafront. At the game, said guy ran on to the pitch when the keeper was just about to take a goal kick and leathered the ball into the net.....

Donny. After that the next best was Carlisle away in '84.

Great day on the piss that was, remember the foresters pub on the seafront packed with Brighton watching the stripper !

August 1977, BHA 3 Miillwall 2, Millwall led 2-0 at halftime. Chucked with rain, it was the last season before proper away fan segregation and F-Troop were not happy.

Yep, that one stands out for me too. A big Goldstone crowd full of expectation at the new season saw a very lacklustre first half from the Albion not helped by a thunderstorm that dampened everyone's mood but second half the sun came out and the Albion put in a classic performance, absolutely took Millwall apart. Quite feisty on the terraces too with our SE London friends getting in a bit of a tizzy when we came back from 0-2 down. Set the tone for a great season.

As a match, that Donnie game wasn't a classic by any means. Dramatic ending of course, but overall it can't really be described as the best BHAFC match of all time. It was brilliant, but not because of the football !

Easy 10 is def one of my fave posters on here but I have to say that Donny was by far the best first game of the season I have experienced with the albion

Donny would be the most memorable for the stadium related memories, but the best performance for me would be 1984/5 when we went to Carlisle, getting up at about 5am, and won 3-0. Frank Worthington made his debut, and we played them off the park.

errrr, 1999. back in Brighton, Hometown boy scores hat-trick in BHA 6-0 win. Lovely sunny day. Doesn't take 4 hours to travel to a home game. Nice ice cream at half time. What could be better???????
This for me,

Donny was great but the Mansfield game was class.

Remember that game well, but it wasn't the first game of the season. We played Southampton away first game that year. Drew 1-1.

My best one has to be Doncaster with the Mansfield 6-0 at Withdean a very close second.

We were applauded off the pitch by the Carlisle fans. That sort of thing doesn't happen too often.

That was the 1st home game but the season started a week earlier with a 1-1 thriller at the Dell.
