Awwww, thanks hon. Took me ages & cost me a small fortune, but I'm glad I persevered with the project. Finally got it finished last Sept - so much looking forward to the Spring so I can have a good countryside blatt!

ps Glad I took my test (ahem) back in the day - otherwise I don't know how I would afford to do it these days. If you do decide to do yours in the future, out of the two bikes you mentioned I think I'd recommend the 'Blade. That said, there's something about owning even a relatively small (600) & old ('96) Ninja that's really spesh. I reckon I've become truely smitten..

I had 50/100cc bikes when i was younger.Took my car test and more recently hgv test.I still crave the feeling you get riding bikes.Whenever i'm in my car i do take a second look at bikes that go past and wish......
Can't see me ever doing my test now.

This one, yes it's an American car ! An Oldsmobile Intrigue, a 3.5 Litre DOHC V6 that would cruise forever, unlike most US cars wasn't scared of corners and had just about everything. It was even well made.

So good they stopped making it.

Favourite bike? My old Velocette Venom, 500cc single.

Favourite car? The present Nissan X-Trail, very much required in the backwaters & tracks of inland Spain.

Mine looked pretty much exactly like that and i loved it to pieces! Trouble is when yo do the sort of miles i do it fucks cars like that up, and the imports are VERY EXPENSIVE when they f*** up! Would love to still have her as a weekend car though if i could afford it!
Mine too, only not the T-bar.
I was the opposite, after a job change I was driving along the A259, during rush hour, for 8 miles, in 3rd gear at a 20mph crawl.
I got so feed up I jokingly said 'I could cycle this quicker', and sure enough I could, a good 15 minutes minimum quicker.
From that point the cars days were numbered, and sure enough in time, the new love of my life appeared.

Never too late - I never really gave up bikes but had a few years not riding and when I picked up my CBR600 from Cambridgeshire last year the ride back down to Sussex was JOYFUL:clap2:

Probably not the best bike or car in the world but i had lot's of fun with both.

Absolutely - had two mates with an XT500 and a SR500 (roadster version) back in the day. Funnily enough they both ended up as Choppers! They also both had the capability to break ankles if they kicked back, much like my old Norton Commando (especially when you connected the electronic ignition back to front so it went to full advance for starting - I seem to have a rare talent for assembling things the wrong way around - a walking example of Murphy's Law:laugh:)

Yes respect for the Mini as well, had black a 1275GT for a while & my Dad Autocrossed a Cooper S back in the 1960's. Sadly rather lethal if you had an accident - one of my Dads Mechanics killed his girlfriend and mangled himself badly when he spun his Mini into a tree...

A very clean Volkswagen Beetle Karmann Cabrio. White with black roof, LHD as imported from California, which meant it was rust-free too. Fantastic Alpine sounds and a Porsche engine in the back which could deliver a shock to the XR3i boys of the time.

Looked pretty much like the one below (can't believe I don't have a picture of my own one) although I didn't generally run around with a ribbon on mine.

I can see me getting another one day, although I'd imagine the price of them is only getting more and more expensive.

Realised I havent actually said my favourites & sadly I am too incompetent to put up photos but....

Fave Car - my first Peugot 205GTi in 1989 - reminded me of my Kart Racing days - sadly I have to use my current car as a work tool so it is the third BMW320D Touring on the bounce - would love a 330D but not sure my Accountant would.

Fave Bike - loved my 2-stroker KH400 and RD350LC, also my Big Brit Twins (650 BSA and 750 Norton) but have to say my current one (CBR600F) is the absolute dogs wotsits!:clap2:

I had a 930 like this as a skippers yacht perk in 1988. Fastest production car in it's day. I can confirm that it was. A27 Havant Bypass.

I have thought long and hard on this and can not come to a conclusion, probably beacause all of my favourites have been flawed in some way. So the answer is one from:

VW Beetle 1500 (my first car)
Rover P6 3500S (superb to listen to but would not go round corners quickly)
TR7 convertible (my least reliable car ever)
XJS V12 convertible (desperately needed a decent gearbox)
XJS 4.0 manual coupe (hard to fault but I missed the V12)
Skyline GTS (why oh why did we not get a GTR)

and there's our current toy - a supercharged Mini van - can not but help smile when driving but permanently convinced it's about to break down!

I actually still have the XT500 in bits in my garage and can not decide whether to customise or to keep original.
Yes they do kick back somewhat as my right leg has a missing cruiate ligament it does go through my brain could it snap my one remaining one if it catches me wrong!!

I just love the 6volt lights even at 60 around country lanes you have a job to see the road edge at night because of the amber glow of the headlight rather than a white light. You can't beat a bit of character.

Norton commando's or most Nortons come to that they are up there with my favourite bikes or a nice chrome AJS 1920's style would be nice.
