This and Heatwave, Boogie Nights. Memories of Shoreham Community Centre "Disco" on a Monday night circa mid 70's. Everybody went because everyone else went, but apart from that nobody knew why. Checking your watch soon after arrival to see how much more of this we had to endure. Waiting for them to play Black Betty or the token punk track. Highlight was bunking the train back to Southwick afterwards.
Statistically, the 80s were Bowie best decade, more hit singles and albums, but the 70s creatively were his best.
He covered every genre of music,( except Reggae) Hard rock, Glam, folk, Soul, Pop, and Electronica.
The man was a certified genius, and I loved the 70s.
26 pages in and you could literally fill all those pages with reggae from that period, especially roots reggae.
The 70's really was a golden era for reggae.
