Lived opposite Barbara for 5 years , lovely lady

Totally agree. But I didn't think that then as a 13 year old, in awe of Debbie Harry .

BD is lovely. An interesting bio ... she came to fame in a Liverpool theatre show in the 70's about The Beatles. She was meant to be just a young bit part player, but she became the star due to her astonishing vocals.

It's a cliche, but I always think of a 1976 cut off.

Brotherhood of Man / Yes vs Sex Pistols / The Clash / Blondie / Joy Division.

Worlds apart.

Or, alternatively, versus:
-- Stevie Wonder's Music for my Mind, Talking Book, Innervisions
-- Neil Young's After the Gold Rush, Harvest, Tonight's the Night, On the Beach, Zuma
-- David Bowie's Hunky Dory, Ziggy Stardust, Aladdin Sane, Diamond Dogs, Pin Ups, Diamond Dogs
-- Tom Waits' Closing Time
-- Led Zep's IV, Houses of the Holy and Physical Graffiti
-- What's Going On and Let's Get It On
-- Autobahn and Radioactivity
-- Neu!, Neu 2 and Neu 1975
-- Sticky Fingers and Exile on Main Street
-- Gasoline Alley, Every Picture Tells A Story and Never a Dull Moment

I've been known to go on. And we could make a top list for the second half of that decade
