Tony plays his cards close to his chest. He doesn't want other clubs knowing too much about transfer funds coming in to the club or how much we are selling our prized assets for, although I accept people will know roughly what Naarch stumped up for Benno.

No real reason for us to release the details chapter and verse though is there, other than to satisfy fans curiosity.

I agree with this, but then why does any transfer amount get released to the general public? I guess both teams have to agree to it.

Why would he leave? He could have become a club legend here and been a regular starter for many years to come. He will have a frustrating season at Norwich with them fighting relegation.

I wonder if Tony has put a clause in the contract so we can have him back when we switch leagues with them next summer

Would take exactly the same view if I were TB. Can't say it bothers me whatsoever other than how it impacts our profit, loss etc and people can always get these overall/total figures from the BHA annual accounts/statements lodged at Companies House.

I'm genuinely happy for the guy.

I don't think you can't blame him for taking an opportunity to play at the highest level. I honestly don't reckon it's all about the money - just look at the fixture list (when it comes out, of course - FIXTURES!)

It's a shame he didn't go to geordieland because then we might have had a chance of a loan spell, and it's a big shame to see him go but that's footy for ya.

Good Luck and thanks Elliott. I wish you all the best for the future.

You have moved on, and so shall we.

Cheers.

Very disappointed with the news, not unexpected and understandable, but disappointing nevertheless. This Buckley better be good!

I'm not really that concerned by his leaving, we all knew it was coming. He's been brilliant, but I can see him fitting into the top of the Norwich diamond perfectly so it's another good signing by them and by Paul Lambert. He's building a team to suit the shape he wants, and for me that's why they'll stay up next season. Stoke went up and assembled a team to match a style of football, and that's worked for them very nicely.

Sad to see him go, not much we could do about it really but wish him the best of luck.

Nothing much to add. Wish him all the best. Gus likes the old 'best if we all get better together" line doesn't he?

And Sam Ovett....brilliant.

Good luck to him. Benno has ben quality the last two season's and he will be missed but he can't turn this opportunity down. I also liked the fact he could of left in January but wanted to stay to help us win the league, top man

I think you would find that we were not prepared to release him at that time, he was probably given a promise that if they came back in at seasons end then he would be sold. Load of old bollocks he spouted after the event though. Still I wish him well, he was a good player for us.
