Like Zamora and Crofts, gutted to see him go. A class player, good for the squad with his personality, and a nice person outside of football.
As we move up, we'll be less of a selling club.
When NCFC go down in the next 2 seasons, he's good enough to stay in the PL by deserting them.

I would like to say a massive thank-you to you, Elliott. You have been a revelation and I believe people will talk about you in years to come the way they do about Mark Lawrenson.

There's no hard feelings and me and the kids will be on our feet applauding you should we ever be lucky enough to see you back at The Amex, or blitzing down the wing for England in 2014.

Good luck to you, mate. You deserve it.

At least now we can all stop hating on Norwich and support them in the Premiership! Try and play football the right way and have two of our favourite players playing for them. We don't hate Bobby, and I might speak for myself, but like it when him and Fulham do well, so I hope Norwich do well next season! Was always delighted to see Crofty scoring last season, so no doubt I'll be pleased to watch them on MotD

Very sensible post; one thing that really impressed me with Bennett was that when his original request was refused, he just got back on with the job and continued to play a crucial part in our winning the League. Re. your point on Bobby, having seen him 3 times for Fulham, what you see is how much of an improved player he is. Not only is he a great goal scorer, he is a superb footballer, whereas when he was with us, I think you could only say the first point for him.

Sigh! Well Bennett has gone, but I think we all saw that coming (probably the only accurate rumour on here!) But isn't it time the League, the FA and the Premiership brought in rules that state, "Bugger undisclosed fees - you have to publish!" ?

Why?

It's a business transaction between two companies. Why should it be public knowledge? I'd like to know but I don't believe we have a right to know.

I'm sorry to see Bennett go, but will be pleased to see him play in the Premier League. He has genuinely worked hard during his time with us, and deserves to opportunity to play at some of the best stadia in the world.

Obviously not compelled to disclose the fees under Company Law etc, but with fans being key stakeholders in a Club (unlike being just customers of say a retailer), it would be preferable to be informed.

Would also stop exagerated fees per the media, when trying to shit-stir against a club. The classic example, being Aquilani's £17.1m move to Liverpool, which the UK tabloids ofter described as £20m or more. But many other examples against other clubs too.

Comparing Benno to Lawrenson is a little embarrassing.
Those of us who have supported the club over 40 years all acknowledge Lawro as the finest player to have worn the shirt in our time. Wardy was the most exciting but Lawro ( thus far ) has been the best. He walked into the best team in England ( and argubably Europe ), established himself as part of one of the best centre-back pairings in modern times and won all the major honours at club level.
Benno is still raw..he may not hold down a regular place, to start with, at Norwich. He still has a tendency to disappear when the going gets rough. He is physically lightweight but can work on that.
Time will tell whether he makes it at the highest level.
Lets just have a bit of perspective here in terms of ability.

Having watched Norwich play during this past season, I'd say Bennett is the perfect acquisition for them.

Paul Lambert is one of the few British players to have won the European Cup / Champions League with a foreign club, and has an impressive talent for spotting the right player to do the right job in order to play football the right way. Norwich City ought to be really pleased with this signing.

Thank you Elliott for your skill, your goals, your assists, your dignity, grace, commitment and attitude. I genuinely wish you all the best.
