I always liked Ledesma, never said we'd sign him. Don't think I ever said we were signing Harley either, only that we were looking.
But what makes you so certain that Elliott's off?

Because we had one player out of contract, offered him what we thought he was worth but he got a better deal elsewhere. The club aren't going to break the bank for a player and nor should they. Bennett will be a disappointing loss and especially if he only goes for £1m, but if we get a replacement for equal or less money then it's hardly the end of the world.

I certainly wouldn't want to stand in his way of playing in the premiership.
We're getting the disappointments over and done with early in the summer and so it will now only be positive news all the way through to August
If any of this is true and he only goes for a million, it seems our ambitions aren't as high as NSC think. Looks like selling our best players on the back of PROMOTION points towards us being in a pretty poor position to do anything in this league for a few years. Like I said in another topic, staying up would be incredible for me. Top goalscorer and the player with most assists gone. Played Brighton.

Are you suggesting we should have offered Murray a contract that put him over DOUBLE our top earner ?
And are you suggesting we shouldn't sell a player who was unsettled in January and never looked the same afterwards, to a PREMIERSHIP club ?
I don't see how the club really has a choice with either Elliott or Glenn....
Biscuit seem's to have the inside scoop on something but is being very secret squirell about it!
Agreed, off the top of my head Bennett scored stunners against Sheff Weds and Walsall. He'd be a big loss.Steady.

without jumping the gun here on benno as these are all rumours......... we as a club also have to prove to Gus that our stated ambitions are matched by our resources to retain and build, and keeping our best players where possible is important in that.
It looks like Gus was not overly arsed about Murray, but I doubt he will want to lose benno, even though I assume the pragmatic Mr Poyet will understand benno's ambitions and do his best to add more quality.
2 steps forward, 1 step back..... will always be the best all selling clubs (those outside the big 4), can hope to achieve.

Brighton Accept Norwich's Bennett Bid
Brighton are believed to have accepted an offer for star winger Elliott Bennett from newly promoted Norwich City, although personal terms are still to be finalised.
The Canaries have been after Bennett since the January 2011 transfer window, where Brighton rebuffed two bids to keep him at the club until the end of the season.
Norwich have now come in with a bid which Brighton have accepted, which is rumoured to add up to over £1million including add ons.
Bennett was influential in the Seagulls own title winning season scoring 8 times, and assisting over 20 of Brighton's 95 goals.
It will come as a bitter blow for Brighton fans as they are still coming to terms of losing their leading scorer, Glenn Murray to rivals Crystal Palace.
Russell Slade signed Bennett from Wolverhampton Wanderers on a 3 year deal in 2009 following a 7-1 defeat at Huddersfield Town.
This deal was extended during this season, but the lure of The Premier League and a bumper contract was too much, despite signing a new deal with Brighton.
Wolves will be keeping an eye on proceedings, as they are set to benefit from a sell on clause which was part of the deal when Bennett signed for Brighton.
Bennett played 99 times for The Seagulls, scoring 17 times and picking up the first medal of his professional career.
It was his pace and energy, as well as his sweet right foot that stood out making him a firm favourite amongst the Withdean faithful.
Norwich have been the busy early on in the transfer window, signing James Vaughan from Everton, bidding for Steve Morrison from Millwall, Craig McKail-Smith of Peterborough, Robert Snodgrass of Leeds United as well as Elliott Bennett from Brighton.
Gus Poyet returns to England today and is set to deal with the blow of losing his star man straight away, by announcing the signing of Will Buckley from Watford, in a deal that would smash The Seagulls record transfer fee by a considerable amount.
Buckley started his career at Rochdale, before moving to Watford in the January 2010 transfer window. Buckley has made 95 career appearances, scoring 18 goals.
Brighton have already signed Will Hoskins from Bristol Rovers, and Chelsea youth team products Ben Sampayo and Anton Rogers.
Gary Dicker and Liam Bridcutt have also signed two year deals with The League One Winners after their contracts were due to expire this summer.

Well he is on holiday so that's what could be delaying it I guess.
It should be mentioned that this bit of 'news' has only been mentioned on Vital Football sites, nowhere else.
