Leeds need a striker first and foremost. Bamford has proved he is not PL quality. An upgrade on him won’t be cheap, clubs know the dirties will be desperate to buy an improvement so, they will have to pay a ‘desperate’ tax.If they really only have 50 million to upgrade their existing squad, I can’t see anything but a long hard struggle for them this season. A striker or two must be their first priority.

Complete nonsense. He's entitled to celebrate. The contract means nothing? In terms of employment law it certainly doesn't mean nothing.

Leeds might want him, but they can't/won't offer the £40-£50M it would take, so he will be here next season (unless someone else comes in with that kind of offer).

We made a point of refusing to give Leeds the option to buy at the end of his loan, even to the point of holding up the loan deal, for a reason. We don't intend to sell him.

Looking back, the most that a club has contracted a Championship only player for is Albion for Webster. £30m alone would be nuts for a player with no EPL experience. I'd say he's coming back. Even if a bigger club comes in they would need to sign him with a view to going straight into their first team.

I think he's starting for us in September.

There is no way Brighton, haven't kept in touch with White and Leeds, watched him regularly, and all parties do not know the outcome at the end. Leeds will have a relationship with Brighton that has facilitated the loan, they are not about to sully that by publicly getting into an open war for his signature. Well I hope not anyway. While their fans maybe the most deluded arrogant fans in the Premier League since er.... Villa's their management will be professional and respectful of the fact we have loaned them a talented player. I just think the fact GP said it in his presser today is very very telling.

If there any doubts over Bens future it’d be platitudes at best or a “no comment” (which he has said before). He was very very definite that he’s happy he’s our player, everyone wins and he’s looking forward to him joining the group next season.

I would argue this, given his performances at Newport and also the fact he had already played for us in the cup previously. I would think it would be a minority that weren't aware of him.
