Won the five before lockdown without conceding a goal, dropped 5 points within the next 3 or 4 after lockdown before returning to winning ways. What we object to is this nonsense of burnout being dragged out all the time. At Bilbao they faced prime Barca in the Spanish cup, went a long way in the Europa league giving Man U a good beating along the way. Bilbao are limited in that they only sign Basque-born players so if they get injuries to key players, which is what happened, they will struggle. Marseille lost a load of players to the African Nations and with it their form. Leeds first season, Roofe, our number 1 striker, got injured after Jan. Bamford who had been injured for most of the early part of the season got rushed back, wasn't fully fit and got injured again. Roofe returned for the 1st play off semi, scored and missed the 2nd leg.If we had both fully fit we would have walked it. It was not burn out, we still dominated the games but hit a patch where teams would have 1 shot against us and it would be the winner. Against Wigan we were 1 up against 10 men and still managed to lose despite having 40-50 crosses.

Ben White's best position

Said at the start of the season that Brighton don't score enough goals and didn't need all those defenders. Should have sold one of them and bought a striker. Other option was to charge Leeds a £5m loan fee and watch their investment grow. Playing for Bielsa in this current side would have showcased how good he is in the centre, intercepting other team's attacks and breaking forward releasing our wingers early. The 30m Leeds were willing to pay would be worth at least 40-45 now. Never understand why Potter plays him on the right side of three as it takes away the best features of his game. Probably worth no more than 25m at the moment if he persists playing him there. The good news for Brighton is that the bottom two look nailed-on to go down so you only have to be better than one of Fulham, Burnley and perhaps Newcastle to stay up. Going to a back 4 would allow you to play a target man and then play off him. I think Brighton should have gone all out to get Watkins in the summer as he is definitely a talent. I saw him play for Exeter against us and liked what I saw. Never surprised me when he took over from Maupay and was much better.

Way out West
I'd be pretty surprised if we sold him. He's been with us for six years, we've carefully nurtured his career to the point where he's good enough to play for the first team in the EPL (which was presumably why we've spent so much time, energy and money on him). Why sell now?

He was pivotal to that team’s promotion, so of course he has an opinion.

As for actually tweeting about it, Leeds supporters keep him in the news, maintain his marketability and make him feel special. He pokes a stick at them every now and then so they don’t forget him.

“Journalists” write stories about him because there are a billion Leeds fans who will click on the link. We know that ever since last summer’s transfer saga, he became a bit of a household name. All because of Leeds fans. #FreeBenWhite and all that.

From the standpoint of his career it makes sense to leverage that support. Keep it alive, whether he wants to stay or leave (and at this point he may as well go to a top 6 club, not Leeds).

I don’t question his commitment on the field. Nor talent. There are many more players I’d question before him in terms of quality, commitment and / or form.

Naylor says he was dropped for his lack of marking on the equalizer vs West Ham. Hopefully that is a wake up call for him.

That’s actually quite a rare scoop from Naylor.

Interesting as I thought he was at blame at West Ham, the lad has shown undoubted quality. Very technical, smooth passer, very comfortable with ball to feet and bringing it out to midfield. But his focus has been exposed slightly at this level, and i think opposition players have out muscled him a bit too easily at times.

He will learn and improve though.

I’m not sure why she mentioned Covid, her comments don’t actually make much sense.
Leeds won 6 and drew 1 out of 9 before lockdown.
Leeds won 7 and drew 1 out of 9 after lockdown.

One extra win :) big deal

Nothing to do with sexism, she’s just another dumb ass football pundit. We see it every week in our games, male/female, doesn’t matter. They know sod all about teams outside the top 6.

“The Brighton defender”
“White who played for Leeds”
“Brighton are scary from corners with the big men”

I hope this story focuses on the fact that many pundits are clueless and it doesn’t become a sexism debate.

I’m sure it’s already become a sexism debate, loads of ‘blue tick’ accounts defending her and having a pop at LUFC on Twitter.

No doubt he's good, but seemingly wasted with us, cash in if we can and invest in someone who doesn't get a nose bleed when they cross the half way line

i like many others have been trying to see how we are going to get out of this predicament , it's not just White , Dunk has been under par as well , the goals against from corners is an embarrassment , i think White spent the majority of last season mopping up and pinging the ball around in a very good Leeds side , i have 3 really good mates who follow Leeds and they were positively jizzing themselves over him last season ......i'm not sure he's used to being under constant pressure from real quality opponents , he's young and may develop into something special but if we get an offer of 35 -40 mill for him or 60 from Man Utd then i reckon its sayonara young man .....Bissouma and Lamptey have to stay if we are to survive ...Tau , Zequiri , Moder ...........Izquierdo ..?? finished at this level..?? , Andone worth getting back on the pitch in my opinion , a bit of mongrel which is what we are missing.

i'm still keeping the faith , i just really hope Potter can get a settled side and formation and string a few games together , i think the current situation is just as demoralising for the players as it is for us .....probably more so.

I wonder who will be dropped for the lack of marking when Lacazette scored last night.

It was a quality move by Arsenal, but we were again a bit too nice in the build up.

As soon as Dan Burn gets turned out paced by Saka he should have fouled him and taken a yellow card. He should have tripped him or pulled him back as close to the half way line as possible.

Once we were turned and our entire back line was scrambling we were in trouble. Burn should have sensed this.

100% this.

Burn has to do better. Another poor signing and out of his depth.

Burn is not a left back so could suffer the same fate many times. He also cannot head a ball

White strikes me as someone who would excel in one of the top sides where the defending is not so ‘backs to the wall’.

I can see why a lot of top clubs are monitoring him but for me I would cash in and use what would be a sizeable fee to buy some real quality in our attacking positions.

The recruitment team have always managed to secure quality replacement defenders which are always cheaper to sign so a move would make a lot of sense for both parties.

Agree he should have done that. At the same time, someone (Gross or Bissouma) needs to follow Lacazette in his run. Cant just ignore a player like that like its Gary Gardner or Gilles Grimandi.

If we can scout this player, match his wage demands and convince him to join us rather than one of our competitors who are further from the drop zone, then what you propose possibly makes sense. Those are huge if's

Every other January we've been comfortable in the league and not been able to recruit this player, every summer we've we've failed to recruit from a position of relative strength. Now we look to recruit from a much weaker position.

The ultimate easy decision in hindsight.

Had he done this and taken a booking and then got caught out with another booking later, voices would be complaining that what a cheap and unnecessary booking the first one was!
