Why oh why oh why?
Whether White stays or goes has little to do with Leeds.
He either stays here or goes to a much bigger club than Leeds
Oh no, don't tell us that Wednesday are in for him...

We'll never be able to afford him, if he gets an England cap.I see Southgate mentioned Ben White this weekend.... not specifically him but talking about Euro 2021 he said ‘that it could be a Ben White or a Kalvin Phillips that haven’t played Premier League football yet’
We'll never be able to afford him, if he gets an England cap.
Cracking bit of business by Leeds.
Our only hope is that Leeds don't go up so they have to get White off the wage billWe'll never be able to afford him, if he gets an England cap.

I know, it really bugs me. He's exactly the kind of player we should be bringing through our development system of youth squads, loans etc. Can't believe we have to sit here in forlorn hope that Leeds will sell him to us.
So much hinges on staying up, with our academy players now beginning to bare fruit, we could become a victim of our own success. We really do not want to become a feeder club for the like's of Bournmouth or Leeds, that would be unjust.
It really is paramount we stay up this year, I really think we can build on this season.
We could be very good next year, with the team we are building here.
Ostigard goes into the last year of his contract in the summer. Big decisions for all concerned.White is the only academy player that we might struggle to keep if we went down. And even then we’d be getting a 20m+ transfer fee for him. Add that to the 45m parachute payment in the first season and it’s hard to feel the victim compared to most Championship teams whose total income is in the 20-30m bracket.

If we go down, we have a lot of PL quality players we can sell for capital, a lot of strength in depth and a lot of promising academy players who have the potential or have already proven their Championship quality.
The likes of Dunk, Ryan, Maupay and Propper would be sold for good money and we already have other players of good championship quality to replace them.
Famous last words, but if we went down I would expect us to be challenging immediately for promotion again. Our situation in this regard is probably healthier than any of the other bottom 6 PL sides.
I honestly don't believe we would sell that many. Maybe we'd park a couple on 1 year PL loans to save wages, but totally ripping up the squad list doesn't seem to fit our way of working now.

I think we’d need to sell two or three players for big money, say Dunk, White and Propper. Even with parachute income, without those sales we’d be heading for a £100m loss (I checked out NUFC’s accounts for 2016/17 and Villa in their Championship stint). I can’t see TB pumping in a further £100m in hard cash for one season’s Championship football, with absolutely no guarantee of bouncing straight back up.
We're not Newcastle or Villa though. We lost 12m last year and that was receiving 115m in TV Money. We'd be receiving approx 50m in TV income in the first year, so that's 65m less, or a 77m loss if we kept the same squad and there were no relegation clauses that reduced the wage bill. Assuming that we have relegation clauses, we would probably reduce wages from the current levels (circa 80m) by a fair amount - for a complete guess say about 30%, or 25m. That leaves a 52m shortfall to break even, which would probably be covered by selling Dunk, Propper and White.
The above however doesn't take into account the additional amortisation of this season's transfer spend, which must be about 10m.
We lost £22m last season, £27m before player sales.
TV income will drop by £65m as you say, commercial income falls for lower league football, plus the Amex may be empty then half empty next season. It really will be a £100m loss for Tony to subsidise, without player sales.
Yes, I am a little reluctant to put the hex on us by discussing the doomsday scenario this early, but clearly there would be player sales.I think we’d need to sell two or three players for big money, say Dunk, White and Propper.
