Recently started a new job and its brilliant, great team and great people throughout the business plus some excellent opportunities etc etc.
In my team, it's predominantly male, average age of mine, which is late 20's. All top blokes, BUT...when it comes to football, complete bell cheeses.
After finding out I support Brighton, attend regularly etc they just didn't want to know. All of them support the typical plastic clubs of Liverpool, Spurs, Arsenal, Man Utd. They all just talk about the top 6, and take the piss out of the three of us who support other clubs. Arrogance of the highest order.
It got so bad on Thursday that I had to really bite my tongue when talking to the Arsenal fan across from me, he was worried about their season, we had some banter, as they've had a torrid time playing us, then him and the SPURS fan, both agreed that he should be more worried because 'Brighton are expected to be down there, we shouldn't normally lose against teams like you'...AH the #teamslikebrighton again, but for some reason, it really pissed me off.
Why are these fans of the plastic clubs so arrogant?? I know that's an obvious answer, but I just don't get it, surely being a fan of a club is also being a fan of the sport, ie taking an interest in the other leagues and clubs around them. All they talk about is the clubs around them in the league and when they will next play each other etc. It's boring, I don't bother getting involved anymore.
Another thing, our director is a massive Liverpool fan so much so, he uses quotes from Klopp to motivate us during our weekly meeting and he's had a picture of Klopp painted on one of the walls next to one of his old quotes. Bellcheese.
Funny thing about all of this, I can have a good chat with the Palace fan in our team about football and I feel we have way more in common, despite hating his club. He thinks the same as me too haha.
