It really depends what you define as " crowd exuberance" ? And are you actually dismissing ticket sharing as an issue? There is no doubt that the club does need an efficient mechanism by which you can pass on your away ticket if you suddenly can't make the game rather than having to write it off. However, you may recall that when the club decided to come down hard on the ticket sharing it had been prompted by a number of arrests of people who should not have had a ticket. It seemed there was a propensity for tickets to be given to dick heads and all fans ended up paying the price.
Nope.
The issue persists though.
The main reason was fairness.
Personally I think the club use the system to their advantage when it suits and they refer to arrests related to people with no entitlement to away tickets but no stats, and buying a ticket from a tout isn’t illegal.

'I was standing, sorry sitting, both lawfully and legally prior to Ulloa scoring. Upon him doing so I rose in a considered manner, checking the safety of those around me, and politely clapped. At that moment, a gust of wind propelled me towards the young man by my side and we were locked in an embrace of fear. The wind then propelled us fifteen rows down onto the pitch into Bruno's arms....'

Seats are an average size if any1 has a bigger backside maybe they need to purchase 2 season tickets just like 2 airline seats. Gangways must be kept clear for safety reasons.
Not sure which away grounds you have been too but the size of chairs and more importantly the width of the terrace where chair resides varies greatly ......

1] Under s. 166 of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994 it is a criminal offence for an unauthorised person to sell or otherwise dispose of a ticket for a designated football match to another person. The maximum sentence is a fine not exceeding level 3 on the standard scale, currently £1000.

And? The purchaser isn’t referred to. It is about selling or offering a ticket for sale.

What is normal exuberant behaviour?
It’s difficult to articulate but I’d be happy to adjudicate. I don’t mind sitting for a hour once a week to be shown footage and decide if it’s natural and spontaneous or a bit “boxpark” look at me going absolutely ker-a-zee at a mid-season equalizer at Fulham.

Agreed. supporter VAR - I’m in.

But I’d definitely come down hard on those fans who film the opposition’s corners and free kicks, but not our own.

Supporter VAR…I think you’re onto something here.

And for sure anyone filming the oppo is banned.

I am very interested to know where the club draws the line between good & bad behaviour. Subtle nuances at play.
It’s an interesting point. My personal take is that, generally in life, the people who take the piss are pretty obvious whether this be at work, football or wherever. I also believe that the vast majority of fans are fine and have nothing to worry about. But there are some who are total cocks. We all know who they are and I imagine the club will as well.

The problem is a lot of them won't be in their allocated seats. I can see a time when fans have to upload a passport photo when registering with the club.
Probably already been minuted, yes!

I don't quite understand why the club don't just track down and punish the individual(s) concerned like they did in Marseille.
I guess it’s just the process. Issue a memo and then they can hold people accountable to it at a later date.

C‘Mon. People do not go nuts at a Coldplay gig, they just politely applaud and appreciate it.
And film themselves doing so.

Which, with my withering allusion to a non-event shoehorned in for purposes of low comedy, was my point.

???

When you’re at a match the host’s ground regulations apply. Technically we’re all normally in breach of the seating regulations (unless safe standing is in place). For me retrospective sanctions won’t work, they either tackle the issues (fairly) at a ground or let them slide.

Chucking beer, fighting, entering the field of play, endangering safety of others etc fair enough…use CCTV but not because you’re not in your own seat, standing in the aisle. Deal with it at the time because the key argument will be ‘someone else is in mine’.

And if we ban our fans for not complying away from home but we then struggle to get Chelsea fans etc to comply with our ground regulations when they visit it will mean we’re treating our fans with double standards.

I think we’re on broadly the same page.

Do remind me to spill my pint over your kid wont you? And when you complain it'll be " mate it's part of the atmosphere ain't it " :ffsparr:
Behave. No one can drink in the stand. If you'd been at Fulham, there wasn’t room to swing a car let alone chuck a beer.
