Fulham wasn't oversold. There were just many fans taking the wrong seats, so they could sit together.

Stewards were making zero attempt to correct this, from what I could make out.

Pretty poor given that it was OBVIOUS that there were many more fans than seats in some rows, with supporters spilling into aisles.

The club (Brighton) should take some responsibilty for this. They had their own stewards there (doing nothing).

Stewards don’t have a cat in hells chance of making everyone sit in the correct seat. Even if fans initially comply they will try somewhere else a bit later. It’s us fans who have to take a grown up approach and comply.

Only by making an example of persistent/obnoxious offenders will people start to take note,. do we really want spotters, vigilantes and CCTV watching our every move?

Clearly it works at home matches. It’s only at away matches that people think they are invisible and can get away with things.

I expect all PL clubs have been asked to remind fans about behaviour.

Very much this and I suspect all those complaining about the club message are in the latter and also the ones banging on about the home atmosphere and trying to lecture us all about the manner in which we should watch football. They are going to get a nasty shock when the safe standing area in the North doesn't turn it into the Dortmund home end.

What is it about Fulham that attracts our prime twats? One of Potter's last games was a complete nightmare. Five lads utterly wankered ( and one who looked coked up) spent virtually the whole game throwing abuse and making cut throat gestures to the home fans to our right. Said Fulham fans were mainly families and not remotely interested in ' engaging '. Finally one of my mates lost patience and enquired ' any chance you might actually watch the game ?". To which the coked up one squared up to my mate virtually frothing at the mouth.

I doubt the people the email targets are “our most loyal supporters”….they’re not old enough. And even if they are, don’t be a dick head and you’ll be fine.

Complement delusional. West Ham sold out to tier 2. People who go home and away are our most loyal supporters. People who went to Gillingham but now do 5 home matches a season are not. They certainly were but not anymore.

Yes, yes it does.

It has no doubt contributed to the stifled, muted atmosphere at the Amex. So why not try to do the same when we are away? Sounds like a plan to me.

Fulham’s always a mess with the neutral zone and people wandering into the away end.
I did it myself in the championship guess what no email.

There is no longer a neutral zone at Craven Cottage.

I agree BUT if stewards are seen to enforce rules, it makes it easier for fans to kick d1ckheads out of wrong seats.

I'm sorry, do you think that throwing beer, standing in the aisle and "surging" when we score are major crimes that need to see loyal supporters watched and punished? Also, the tone and nature of the email make me strongly suspect the club are going to go beyond the things mentioned.

Anyone throwing beer needs putting on some sort of register of dickheads…Twats behaviour and anyone that agrees with throwing it needs to grow up.

On the other things there are posts throughout this thread saying the surging is dangerous in all seated areas.

Exactly and if the stewards did random seat checks this might make a few think twice and if the punishment was more severe it might virtually put a halt to fans not sitting in the seat allocated to them.

100% behind anyone Throwing drinks around being banned. It’s totally unnecessary, impacts innocent people and has absolutely nothing to do with spontaneously celebrating a goal.

The OTT feigned offence ( "disgraceful ", 'shocking', "would rather be in L1" type stuff) at an email that spent half its time going on about how great the fans are , and the other half criticising behaviour which nobody has even tried to defend anyway is always a joy i find.

the cherry on the top here is that we wouldn't be getting this email at all if it wasn't for away regulars - contacting the club to complain about it.

So as I don’t go away these days ( after many seasons where I was an 100% home and awayer ) and have been going since 1974 and attend about 70% of home games even though I am a STH, I am no longer a “ loyal supporter” ?
