Stewards don’t have a cat in hells chance of making everyone sit in the correct seat. Even if fans initially comply they will try somewhere else a bit later. It’s us fans who have to take a grown up approach and comply.Fulham wasn't oversold. There were just many fans taking the wrong seats, so they could sit together.
Stewards were making zero attempt to correct this, from what I could make out.
Pretty poor given that it was OBVIOUS that there were many more fans than seats in some rows, with supporters spilling into aisles.
The club (Brighton) should take some responsibilty for this. They had their own stewards there (doing nothing).
Only by making an example of persistent/obnoxious offenders will people start to take note,. do we really want spotters, vigilantes and CCTV watching our every move?
Clearly it works at home matches. It’s only at away matches that people think they are invisible and can get away with things.
I expect all PL clubs have been asked to remind fans about behaviour.
