So I’m guessing Mick Fleetwood used to trawl the pubs of South Wales looking for exceptionally fit birds.
But they had to be called Rhiannon, Caroline or Sara, for his bullshit to work.

If he ever ventured into the Valleys, I can see where Albatross was dreamed up.

Back in the early 80's I was living in Bushey in Hertfordshire. We frequently partied at a mate's house and one night / early morning when we went back I managed to spend some time with a young lady called Shirlie, who was, unbeknown to me, at the time part of the emerging Pepsi & Shirlie, or rather backing Wham as they were starting to emerge.

I was reminded by one of my sisters recently that she'd dated Doug Scarrot and that he was a lead/rythm guitarist of Saxon. I used to go to his house on the corner of Olive and Old Shoreham Road to jam with him when must have been a teenager. He's still playing with them after all these years. Me...pawned my last guitar in 2015 but haven't completely given up.

Small world ... I met Doug's lovely son last year, he is also a musician

Was good friends at college with Jyoti Mishra who became 1 hit wonder 'White Town'. An out there marxist, made me look like centrist dad. Remember vividly a conversation where we talked about what Socialism meant to us, I talked about equality, sharing etc, he talked about smashing the ruling classes.

Also spent a lot of time in Derby with Danny and Rick who were Candy Flip - We danced on top of a table top Asteroid machine I had (which I sold for a Tenner!!) to Front 242 or Nitzer Ebb or something, then Danny was making a load of noise throwing a broken video recorder up and down the street, got smacked by my neighbour. Odd memories, hedonistic times.

My dad 'stepped out' a few times with Dusty Springfield back in the day allegedly.

Explains a lot.

Please ask him, where he stepped out with her, as I have always wondered whether Her or Tom moved amongst us Brighton and Hove villagers before their faces were known.

She was cool.

She handled the cringey teenage banter that came her way very well.

Hawaii. Another place to add to the list of those I’ll never visit again, now I’ve got children. Along with everywhere else.

And as for world famous encounters - I lost my virginity to Jamie Morrallee’s cousin.

Will ask for further details, but I do believe that it was indeed local.

Perhaps this should be titled after they were famous but people did not know who they were - Dave Sexton once offered to coach Cottesmore Junior School football team the then head of the school declined the offer saying he had the 'role' covered....

I kept John Amaechi out of our school rugby team.

Always thought he was a bit of a fraud with his stories about school bullying etc. I never saw anything and he was very popular......

Went to secondary school in Crawley. In the year below me was Gareth Southgate, who while at the school went out with a sister of one of my friends. In my brothers class was a kid from a weird religious family called Dan Walker.

Michael Fish was an ex-pupil of my school, and they invited him back to give a talk when I was a student there, around 1985/6.

I still remember his opening words as being jaw-droppingly inappropriate – even back then, when #metoo and Harvey Weinstein were still decades away.

"We didn't have girls at this school when I was a pupil," he began. "So perhaps we could get all the girls here today down into the front rows, so I can see their legs."

Other ex pupils who I was actually there at the same time with, and vaguely remember, were Eddie Izzard and Ed Giddins, who went on to play for Sussex and England. Ed Giddins was a sulky kid with great 80s peroxided hair!

Ed Giddins tried to have a go on my girlfriend back in the 1990s.

He got done for Cocaine about 6 months later

I went to school, with the Weeks'; Honeysuckle (Foyle's War, anyone?) was a few years ahead and Perdita was the year below...Perdita was recently in Ready Player One.

I used to work with the aunt of the singer Charli XCX.

Also, for a short time Joe Launchbury stacked shelves alongside me.

Haha, the dad of a new member of junior's football team in Burgess Hill a few years ago watched the rubbish unfold, silently, from the touchline for a couple of games and coaching sessions before it was suggested he might be able to help. Young Rogers wasn't quite up to his old man's standard sadly.
