As much as I wish him success with his project in America, I can't imagine Beckham wasn't expecting a slightly hostile reception from some of the Americans after openly admitting he'd rather continue playing for another team (even if it was Milan).

Mainstream US Sports media shows are fed up with the Beckham show and it's plain to them he hasn't had the effect of popularising soccer as was intended.
I think Beckham under-estimated the work ethic and commitment towards the team that US athletes give as standard.
Beckham's choice was simple - take the L.A. Dollar and forget about playing for England in WC2010, or stay in Europe and take a paycut. He's taken the piss by messing LA Galaxy around, I feel for their fans. Beckham should have joined AC Milan in the first place.
