BBC compiled the top 60 streamed and downloaded Beatles songs over the weekend. I think I'm right in saying their library became available in 2010 but the top ten surprised me.
Before looking, try and guess the number one. Bet you're wrong.

OK I’m going to look in a mo. I am willing to bet it’s some McCartney dirge

Edit :lolol: could I have been more wrong? But the McCartney dirges did make nos 2 and 3

Quite please that only one of my top ten Beatles songs made it to that top ten.
My favourite didn't even make the top 60! (You Never Give Me Your Money)

Here Comes the Sun is my favourite song, so pleased to see it top.

I believe it was co-written with Eric Clapton.

Interesting as most of these would have been selected by a newer generation. Having listened to their music for most of my life the order of all the songs on the list is way off my my thinking. I have to say I’ve enjoyed the recent Esther tapes White Album. The anniversary stuff on Radio 2 will allow another generation to appreciate their music.

Its a Harrison solo composition - but he wrote it on Eric Claptons garden I believe!

Was that about the time when Clapton shat on his friend by nicking Pattie Booth off Harrison?

Lucky lady having two classic songs written about her. Something and Wonderful Tonight, maybe more?

Boyd, not Booth.

............and given half a chance, I'd have written a song about her too!
